Save Andhra Pradesh!
Telugu tribe today stands at a crossroads. Next few months will decide the fate of our race. Unfortunately, the people of our state have little say in these vital decisions. Our future today rests with the leaders at the center, and opportunistic separatist politicians of our state. The leaders at the center neither understand our history nor have any interest in protecting our race. On the other hand, the separatist politicians neither have facts nor history on their side. They therefore are holding the people of our great state hostage with the threat of violence.

Our future today looks bleak. However, I believe we can change the tide, if the good people of our state rise up against this atrocity being committed by the separatist politicians. There were many instances in our history when Telugus fought back from the brink of extinction.

After the demise of the Satavahana Empire, Telugu country was in a state of utter disarray. From nowhere came a king named Rudradeva, ruler of a small principality of Warangal. With the consummation of Kakatiya Empire, he achieved something that was till then deemed impossible. Rudradeva united the Telugu country that disintegrated after the demise of the Satavahana Empire.

Delhi’s formidable Muslim army occupied entire India. During this process Tuglaq mercilessly destroyed the Kakatiya Empire. When things looked bleak for Telugus, a common soldier named Prolaya Nayak and his cousin Krishna Nayak from Musunuru, raised an army and dared to achieve something no other Indian king could achieve. The brave Krishna Nayak drove away Tuglaq out of Telugu land and took back Sultanpur i.e., Warangal.

Then there is Vijayanagara Empire, founded by two brothers from Warangal- Harihara and Bukka. The legendary duo consolidated entire South India under their rule. When northern India was besieged by invaders that came from across the border, Harihara and Bukka built an empire that acted as an impregnable wall against the invading armies. They protected the entire South India including today’s Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. During these battles, millions of our forefathers sacrificed their lives – sometimes losing half a million men in a single war. Despite these monumental losses, our forefathers refused to give in to the enemy. What inspired them to make such sacrifices? There can’t be any other reason, but to protect our culture, our heritage, our history, and our identity.

My friends- Telugu people are capable of rising up even when backed into a corner. If history is any guide, we should be optimistic. My recently published book- “My Telugu Roots: Telangana State Demand – A Bhasmasura Wish” delves into the details of our glorious past. My Telugu Roots goes through many aspects of our medieval and modern history in the context of current demands for a separate state.

In many of the debates occurring over the separation of our state, there is a lack of statistical data to respond to allegations of regional discrimination. I have put the entire Chapter 19: “Telangana State Demand Built on a Platform of Lies” online. You will find comprehensive statistical data in a simplified format to help you with your arguments for unification.

The current so-called student movement is a mere repetition of 1969, when politicians used high school and college students for their selfish ends. Learning about the Jai Telangana movement of 1969 is crucial to put the current violence into context. Please find the entire chapter 17: “Jai Telangana- Chenna Reddy versus Indira Gandhi“, online at my website.

I will be writing regularly on the crisis in our state. Join me on my website at http://www.myteluguroots.com, or on my facebook page and twitter at the links given below. Please share my website link with your friends and family.

    SAVE AP?

A REJOINDER TO OUR FIFTH COLUMNIST
    Mr. NALAMOTU CHAKRAVARTHY

I fumbled upon your article while posting comments in You Tube.

I couldn’t, however, perforce myself to read beyond the first paragraph.  The words chosen by you are so loaded, almost unworthy of use by any disinterested analyst.  You sound like a fifth columnist eking out a living by being on the payroll of the opposite camp.

Let me take on the fiction filled in the first paragraph itself, sentence by sentence.

According to you the future of a community and a people depends on the formation of a new taluka, creation of a new district or etching out a new province.  By elevating a measly administrative division as an epoch making event in the history of the Telugu's you have exposed your naiveté.

Look at the third sentence: “the people of our state have little say in these vital decisions”.  My dear, the people and their representatives very much have a say.  Their mood and mandate was gauged by the state and central leadership of almost all the political parties.  It is precisely for this reason the entire political spectrum has expressed its solidarity with the movement.  It is the will and "the say" of the people that is determining the contours of the movement. The BJP, CPI, INC, TDP, PRP and others have declared their support accordingly.  Of course the opportunistic PRP has turned volte-face while TDP is still committed to Telangana officially.

And yet, if you and your ilk have any doubt, then hold a survey or seek a referendum from the ten districts.

Your prejudiced mind and colored vision is also evident in the fourth sentence when you dub our leadership as opportunistic.  The entire leadership is acting as per the will and the mandate of the people.  Their political stance is being fashioned by the public mood. Look at the 2004 manifesto of the INC and see for yourself its contents.  Try to know the fact that the TDP has appointed an internal panel on Telangana.  This panel has given its overwhelming verdict after touring and holding consultations in three regions of AP. And yet people of your creed see political opportunism in it.  What a pity?  What a bankruptcy of intellect?

As if not enough, you go on to question the historic sense of our leadership. My dear, systematic decimation of the Gentleman’s Agreement is a historic fact.  Every promise; every provision; every safeguard in this agreement has been incapacitated.  Even the archetypal modus vivendi of 1973, the Six Point Formula, was stymied.  Take a look at the 610 G.O. and the report of the Girgilani Commission to know about the encroachment on that archetypal modus vivendi itself.

Prophesies on the ulterior and imperialistic motives of Vishalandhra movement, by none other than Pandit Nehru, is a historic fact.  For educating the people of your clan I quote him verbatim:  “Vishalandhra is an idea bearing a taint of expansionist imperialism”.  The political hegemony of 54 years in which non-telanganites occupied the post of CM for 50 years is a telling demonstration of the perceptible mind of Nehru. The caveats of the Fazal Ali Commission against the merger; and the experience of 54 years is a historic fact.  The observations of the Bachawat Tribunal on the irrigation potential of Telangana have gone on to become a fact.  And yet the fifth columnists like you question us about lack of historic sense.  What an irony?

My dear, the leadership of two federating units has agreed to come together based on an agreement in 1956.  This agreement provides for sharing of power and resources together with some safeguards.  It is the bedrock on which the whole super structure of merger is built.  If this very bedrock is incapacitated then the whole edifice it builds will come crashing down.

    This is nothing but natural.

The violent insurrection of 1969, the rumblings in the 1990's and the protracted politics of elections, agitations, resignations and reelections during the current phase are an inevitable and natural outcome of the stultification of promises and assurances.

"The promise given was a necessity of the past: the word broken is a necessity of the present" asserts Niccolo Machiavelli.  Being a true progeny of this grandee, the Italian Andhra's have mastered the art of winning over the other side with promises on one day and breaching them the very next day with no sense of qualm.

The practice of Machiavellian Politics is ab initio faulty and myopic.  It is prone to fail as it is not based on the foundations of justice, fair play, idealism and realism. It is a pity that the Italian Andhra leadership has not heeded to the prophecies and caveats of Dante Alighieri given in The Inferno and Commedia.

      Mufti saab,
      please avoid using Nehru's comments.
If wish of Vishalandra is tainted with "expansionist imperialism", what you will call forcing integration of 500 Princely states into a country? These princely states were politically alienated from India for 90 to 160 years. What right Nehru has to integrate Hyderabad state into Indian Union? Did he conduct any referrendum? Was there any proof or GreatMen's agreement between Hyderabad and India?
His daughter went a step ahead and cheated Telangana people.
His grand daughter-in-law does not open her mouth even after 200 kids died for the casue.

  2. Ved says:

There is nothing new you offered. What do you mean by rejoinder? You mean the cut and paste technology of propagating lies and quoting each other, obfuscating the original source.  You guys selectively take quotes out of context and use them as data and facts. Mr Chakrawarthy carefully has gone through the original source of your lies and systematically and factually decimated them. If you have any rejoinder on those, please let us know but let us not repeat the original slogans.
Gentleman's agreement was a goodwill gesture  offered by majority population to minority population that suffered under horrific Nizam's feudalism  for generations. Don't confuse this with article 370 enacted in Kashmir to protect and appease the minorities. We are still suffering from that ill conceived move of Nehru.
In any case Gentleman's agreement was the best example of solidarity that Telugu people of one region have shown towards Telugu people of another region. Even if it is not implemented 100%,the sacrifices that Andhrites have made for the betterment of Telanganites is very commendable. As a recipient of these benefits, I expect some  shame and dignity from you in demanding such goodwill gestures in perpetuity. Enough of your fake Atma Gouravam.
The success of the state of Andhra pradesh for the last 50 years proves the power of Telugu unity, from Adilabad to Anantapur, from Tirupati to Tekkali. This was a remarkable transformation from 400 years of suffering from different imperialistic rulers. Now it is one of the strongest state in Indian republic, particularly in the South, a far cry from the days where it used to play second fiddle to Tamilnadu and the so called Dravidian movement.
As far as Nehru's statement of Telugu expansionism, he made so many statements against SRC and for him the role model was former USSR.  So how does it matter what he has said, when at the end he swallowed his ego and supported the formation of Andhra Pradesh and paved the way for the creation of strong Indian republic.
Thanks for finding this blog. We need constant reminder (or rejoinder) of what separatism is all about. I can understand your frustration of not able to go past the first paragraph of Mr Chakrawarthy's article. This is called separatist syndrome. When you shut down your ears and eyes and fed with constant lies for so long, it is hard in the first attempt.

    • Mufti Islah says:

Your inconsistent cacophony does not even qualify you for the job of a pamphleteer.  But, being an Machiavellian Andhra, you will definitely be doing well, thanks to your affiliations, networks and connections.

      Let me expose your arguments.

Before that, I have a word of appreciation for you.  Please accept our thanks for acknowledging the fact about the whole sale breach of the Safeguards Agreement. It was only after a long search I have found a solitary Machiavellian Andhra with so much sincerity.

But your basic mercenary personality will not let you to fake altruism for too long.  Your real bestial character stands exposed with your demand for a quid pro quo. At any rate the role of your fore fathers in our struggle is only on the periphery.

Let me invite your attention to the lack of coherence in your argument.  First you accept the guilt of non implementation of Gentleman's Agreement, and then denounce us for seeking its implementation, in perpetuity. This contradiction is exposing your lack of intellect

My dear, the breach of the Safeguards Agreement of 1956; and the dilution of the modus vivendi contained in the Presidential Order of 1973; is sufficient to break up the Andhra Enterprise.  Lucius Annaeus Seneca said that "a Kingdom founded on injustice never lasts." Andhra Raj is doomed to collapse sooner than later as it is not built on the foundations of justice, equality and fair play.

Any talk of "success" and "remarkable transformation" is just a sham.  Go and see the parched heartland of Telangana and witness the price paid by the people of Palamoor for the credulity of our leadership. Have a look at the human development indices of the district of Medak and Nalgonda lying a few miles away from the metropolis. "Transformation" of course has taken to the lives of farmers, ranchers and pastorals coming from Andhra. They are now wearing the fatigues of Industrialists, Film Producers, Media Barons, and Financiers, thanks to their proximity to power.

Your talk of Telugu unity also does not cut much ice.  With hordes of MP's, how many cabinet berths did we secure? Compare that with Tamil Nadu.  Have a look at the proliferation of economic activity in Tamil Nadu.  Look at the scores of industrial projects secured by them. Are the champions of Telugu might were able to match them?

Your argument about formation of AP leading to emergence of a strong Republic has no takers.  Please note that fascist tendencies in parts of India have a linguistic basis.  The growth of Linguistic Nationalism is a threat to the very idea of Indian Republic. We need many small and relatively weak states for the Republic to be strong.

At last, please accept the fact that the idea of a solitary state for a community as large as the Telugu's is faulty.

SAVE AP? A REJOINDER TO OUR FIFTH COLUMNIST MR. NALAMOTU CHAKRAVARTHY Part II

Today at 11:59 | Edit note | Delete

“Our future today looks bleak”, snivels and laments, His Exalted Highness, Mr. Nalamotu Chakravarthy, in the very first sentence of his second paragraph, as if the future of the Telugu's is being mortgaged with Our Chit Fund Company facing the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Liquidation.

After reading the second paragraph, any uninitiated would have been swept away by a sea of tempestuous melancholy. I was, however, reduced to both contemptuous disregard and giggles at his prognoses.

In his biography, A Personal Record, the English Novelist Joseph Conrad, writes, “Danger lies in the writer becoming the victim of his own exaggeration, loosing the exact notion of sincerity, and in the end coming to despise truth itself as something too cold, too blunt for his purpose — as, in fact, not good enough for his insistent emotion. From laughter and tears the descent is easy to sniveling and giggles.”

Mr. Nalamotu Chakravarthy, your fetish to exaggerate, your effort to camouflage the truth, and your loads of insincerity, is exposing you to intense ridicule and slur. I can only liken your thesis to that of the hallucinations of a proverbial schizophrenic.

Why on earth you view a "bleak" future for the Telugu’s? Is the Telugu identity, language and culture is so meek that it will be obliterated by the experiment of the Union to create a Second Republic, when the experience of the Telugu's in distant lands, proves it otherwise. The State of Pondicherry is inhabited by Telugu's, Tamil's, and the Malayali's in equal numbers. Go and see for yourself the festivities of Onam and Sankranthi in Puducherry, Karaikal and Yanam. Please visit the southern Orissa, southern Chattisgarh, eastern Karnataka and southern Maharashtra and speak to the people. I assure you, that you will not be in want of the services of a translator, as the people there very much speak the Italian of the East.

Even after five decades of separation, Telugu’s in Chennai are a sizable lot. They retain their language, culture and identity. There is sizable number of Telugu’s in pockets of Salem and Coimbatore. According to Wikipedia Telugu “is also widely spoken in Virudhunagar, Tuticorin, and Madurai and Thanjavur districts.” Wikipedia also reports that in “in Tamil Nadu the Telugu is classified into Salem, Coimbatore, and Chennai dialects.”

The large tracts of the city of Bangalore sing the tunes of Telugu. In fact the who’s who of Bangalore is the Telugu’s. A Kannadiga often laments about the popularity of Telugu films Vis a Vis the Kannada films in Bangalore.

We often find a typical Telugu professional from New York, having his Italian Andhra parents in Hyderabad, tying a nuptial knot with a Telugu intern at the AIIMS, Delhi, having her parents in Bombay, thanks to the http://www.telugumatrimony.com.

So, Your Exalted Highness, the thesis you propose, does not hold water. Your entire effort smacks of insincerity and deceit. You have indeed succeeded in entering the portals of history due to your dubious role of the fifth columnist.

I call upon the readers to use discretion and judgment while reading the canards of this grandee. I end with a perceptible observation of an American Writer, William F. Buckley: “The academic community has in it the biggest concentration of alarmists, cranks and extremists this side of the giggle house.” Readers Beware!

  4. AMRAO says:

It would have made people like me happy if Mr. Mufti had written about facts than poetry and pasting well known links.
    1) It looks like Mr. Mufti does not want to pay attention to what Indira Gandhi said in 1972 about splitting AP. He is, however, interested in her father's words which he said before he agreed with the first SRC.
    2) About the logic of Telugus being in Chennai, these guys had no choice but to live in Chennai and learn Tamil to continue their life. I am sure many of them would have wanted to leave Chennai and live in AP. It is estimated that there are 20 to 25 lakh people from Coastal and Seema districts in Hyderabad. Tell me how many of these people can move away from Hyderabad if the state is split? No middle class person with a house here can afford to move.  These people have moved to Hyderabad decades ago and have no roots left in their native places. Whether they like it or not, they will learn Urdu and continue to lead their life.
    3) The simple fact that none of these 20 to 25 lakh people are able to come out in the open, to express their opinions, tells a lot about the kind of fear that they are living with. They are all hoping that they would get a chance to open their mind to the Sri Krishna commission.
    4) Many Hindus live in Pakistan and Bangladesh even today. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh can tell the world that they respect and treat Hindus equally. Can we all agree with that?
    5) Why are separatists in other states unable to make such threatening statements? People in Darjeeling ( I was there couple of months ago and seen many rallies), Vidharbha, etc…? Separatists here know that people from all of AP invested in Hyderabad and they can be threatened. A group of goondas can achieve a whole lot as we all saw from the Rahul Gandhi - Mumbai incident.

  5. Anup says:

    Hello MR. NALAMOTU CHAKRAVARTHY,

In all your chapters you particularly mentioned Telangana as ‘Nizam Telangana’ but you no where mentioned Andhra & Rayalseema as ‘British Andhra or British Rayalseema’ OR ‘Madras Presidency Andhara, Rayalseema’ But for your kind information Telangana was Nizam Telagana only before 1948 Sep 17th after that telangana belongs to all the people of A+T+R irrespective of there religion.

From all this we come to a conclusion that you are a settler in telanagana and you never felt telagana is your own land, that’s the reason why you have mention every where as ‘Nizam Telangana’

We really respect our Nizam sarkaar rather that Andhra & Rayalseema Sarkaar..

Now you are a settler in United States at least give some respect to that place.

    Thank You,
    Kumar.

    • srinivas says:

Because he has respect on this region, he wrote a book and discussed a lot about Telangana eventhough he is settled in USA.
Again, if you are really from telangana, do not say t, "we telangana people respect Nizam sarkaar". Our forefathers who fought against atrocities of Nizam would be weeping if they listen to your words. For all the telangana cultural problems, Nizam was the culptrit. I am also from telangana dists, but not poisoned by fake TRS campaigns. This is the reason sensible telanganites do not support separate telangana. When you people do not even allow samaikyavadis of this region to speak out, what right you have comment on authors like Mr.Nalamotu who did a painstaking research on the history and economic issues of this region?
If possible try to give this book to your "elite" professors.
      Thank you.

  6. Mufti Islah says:

The wholesale breach of the Safeguards Agreement of 1956 is a fact. The dilution of the archetypal modus vivendi of 1973 is a fact.  The change in the design and location of the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam to the disadvantage of Telangana is a fact.  Monopolisation of jobs in the Secretariat and the Heads of Departments due to shameless machinations in the AP Public Service Commission is a fact.

You come up with the quote of Indira given in 1972.  Let me counter it with the fact of Presidential Order of 1973, emanating from 32nd Amendment to the Constitution.

I further counter with the assurances given by Sonia, not in the distant past, but in the elections of 2004.

My dear, what were you doing when the issue of the formation of the State of Telangana was included in the NCMP?  What were you doing when the PM and President Kalam is declaring their intent before their address to the Parliament and to the Nation?

Rao Garu, creation of a State is a measly adminstrative matter in Indian federal scheme.  By comparing this with Partition of India and Secession from Indian State you are exposing your naïveté.

Coming to the Telugu’s, they are not only in Chennai, but spread across Tamil Nadu.  Their presence could be seen in large swathes of the Deccan in different pockets.  They are the one who call the shots in Bangalore.  Are these people getting insecure?

If Telugu’s in non-telugu lands can thrive and prosper, where is the need for their insecurity in Hyderabad, the historic and eternal land of the Telugu’s.  So, insecurity is merely a bogey manufactured by the very few Italian Andhra’s who are in illicit possession of our lands acquired due to their proximity to power.

By the way, why are you raising the issue of resettlement?  Why any one has to sell off the property, earned out of their hard earned money?

Coming to my style of writing, please note that the issues before the people of Andhra and Telangana have ethical, legal, constitutional and philosophical underpinning. Thus, adopting poetic prose, and quoting Machiavelli and Dante is very much pertinent. While the Italian Andhra’s practiced the politics of former; the people of Telangana are raising the issue of justice, idealism and fair play, thanks to Dante Alighieri.

Before ending, I plead you not to compare our movement with forces practicing linguistic fascism bent on striking at the core of the Indian Constitution.  Rest assured, that the formation of Telangana will herald many states striking linguistic nationalism in the bud itself.

Next  'Anandpur Sahib Resolution' will come from Andhra . Chauvinism will be the order of day.

My Dear friends and citizens of Andhra Pradesh, We are victims of the selfish politicians who can change their tounges based on ther selfish needs. There are always many cnanges which happened due to many reasons. THey have the power to spin the situations by using innocent spines of people to make this place a hell with out pleople from the same place as it is hell. See how thsi selfish politician played a card by distibuting lakhs of rupess to the innocent students as mentioned by Manda  Krishna on TV. If they really botherd for this place all these years let us ask a question to all these united politiciens across parties why did they not take any action as they were elected since decades. I agree ignorant ppeople are innocents but let us not allow these politicians are innocents in this issue. Let us accept all these are show for selfish reasons in stead of showing the additional expenditure on each citigen of eaither place of this state. They are least bothered about who clears the debts if we go ahed and get the additional funds for division of the state. My dear innocent people please do not follow these emothion creators who would like to see another Pakistan in India with a big hatred. We are educates let us look at the issue with out emotions. ANy decision taken in hatred will not give any good result. Let us look into the reality and respond. Why can;t we form as teams are verify the facts. I appreciated Mrs Lakshmi Parvati stating few useful statements like be there if there is really injutice happened as these politicians claim. Before that we need truth from the Government. Please look at reality and take decisions based on the reality instead of some individuals who are looking for benefit out of this seperation. Jai Hind

    Hi Srinivas,

I said we telangana people respect 'Nizam sarkaar', I said this only because of the infrastructure which they build in Hyderabad sate for which Hyderabad was in the 5th position when before it was merged with Andhra in 1956. Of course Hyderabad is still in the 5th position and in the same way we should also pay respect to the British.

    Thanks,
    Anup.

Do not make our ancestors weep by respecting the Nizam sarkaar. If you want to know the details on how we are living under nizam you can ask your grandpa or grandma (  They will know the deatils not KCR OR SOME LALLU PROFESSOR)

  10. In Pakistan you ask any child, the answer is that India is a rouge country all Indians are theives, they occupied our legitimate Kashmir, tookaway our muslim dominated Hyderabad, stealing our Indus water, they are resposible for all the bombings in our country or any other plight, problems India is sqarely responsible. this is what happening in Telangana now. the leaders and politicians did very little good for the people except inculcating a culture of hatred in their people. people of Telangana are really good and innocents, thats why politicians exploiting them. so far no single politician, MLA, MP died, but so many innocent student and others commited suicide.

    History
The Krishna River is a river of India that originates at Mahabaleswar in Maharashtra, passes through Sangli and meets the sea in the Bay of Bengal at Hamsaladeevi in Andhra Pradesh. The state of Andhra Pradesh was unable to effectively use the river until the mid 20th century, due to the absence of a reservoir which could store the water. River floods devastated the villages in the Krishna District while Nalgonda district and Guntur were unable to use the excess water.
The proposal to construct a dam to use the excess waters of the river was put forward by the British rulers in 1903. Siddeswaram and Pulichintala were identified as the suitable locations for the reservoirs. However, none of these proposals materialized. The perseverance and single minded determination of the Raja of Muktyala paved way for the construction of the dam.
Based on the reports submitted by the Khosla committee in 1952, the congress government formed under the leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru decided to construct reservoirs in drought hit areas under the first five year plan. The state governments were asked to submit a report on the possible locations for such project. After the formation of the Andhra Pradhesh state in 1953 and the submission of a report by the government, the foundation stone for the Nagarjuna Sagar dam was laid on 10 December 1955. It was named after the buddhist monk Nagarjuna.

    Project construction
The dam water was released by the then Prime Minister's daughter, Indira Gandhi in 1967. The consruction of the dam submerged an ancient Buddhist settlement, Nagarjunakonda, which was the capital of the Ikshvaku dynasty in the 1st and 2nd centuries, the successors of the Satavahanas in the Eastern Deccan. Excavations here had yielded 30 Buddhist monasteries, as well as art works and inscriptions of great historical importance. In advance of the reservoir's flooding, monuments were dug up and relocated. Some were moved to Nagarjuna's Hill, now an island in the middle of the reservoir. Others were moved to the mainland.
The project started in February 1956 but due to scarcity of funds modern equipment was not available. The project was constructed with stone instead of concrete. A cement factory was constructed near Macherla to meet the project requirement. A railway line was laid connecting the project location and the cement factory. Stones were supplied from the nearby Sunkesula quaries. Sand was supplied from Rayavaram stream and Halia river. The construction of the dam was completed by 1969. The dam came under full usage from 1972 after fitting the crest gates. Two canals – the left and right canals were constructed to supply water from this reservoir. Total expenditure on the project (including maintenance till 2005) is around 1300 crore rupees. The number of workers participating in the project varied from 45,000 to 70,000. Around 174 people died due to accidents during the construction.

To be frank i really dont care for Telangana. Like this there are many and many. then why we are still dependent on Telanga? Cant we prosper with our own Andhra state? cant we develop our own cities like Hyderabad? and no one is asking us to leave Hyderabad. And to be frank, Chiranjeevi was pro Telangana and now he became anti Telangana. Do u still support him? He didnt stand on his own words. We are proving here that we dont do what we say. whatever we say is for the sake of votes but for the sake of people. What we say and what we do are absolutely opposite. This is one way of loosing our own self respect. Have some sense. For the sake of few politicians who have their properties in Telangana region, we ourselves are losing our self respect. Its an insult to our people. I am not dependent on anyone for my region's development. Jai Andhra. are you guys dependent on others for your growth? Then agree the point that you cannot grow if you dont have Telangana or Hyd. But showing some facts and making silly comments or writing some articles or blogs will tell that we are incapable. Jai Andhra. Jai Jai Andhra

  18. cvs murty says:

I was a strong proponent of united AP till recently but after watching the Telangana leaders for the last 3 months and also the Telangana people's exuberance to integrate themselves with the Muslims (and resurrect the erstwhile Nizam state in the process) instead of their Telugu brethren from non-Telangana areas, I felt that the time has come for the separation. There is no point in hoping any further that there will be reconciliation. The sooner the separation happens, the better it is for the non-Telangana people. The issue will not die down and will be raked up whenever a disgruntled politician takes it up as an issue. The non-Telangana people should make a quick beginning to develop their areas, instead of contributing for the development of areas, which someone will someday claim as theirs.
Incidentally, I was one of those people, who lost an academic year during the Telangana agitation in 1969. In retrospect, I feel that the separation should have taken place at that time itself and by now the Andhra region would have had a full-fledged and well-developed capital for our region.  Any way, better late than never!
Good luck to the Telangana brethren, who are being led by KCR et al. into the arms of the Muslims. I only pray that history will not repeat in the prospective Nizam state.

Its true that many like you are frustrated to watch these developments.
Though it is better to separate, it may leave very bad precedent in the country.
A group of districts demands separate state along with the developed capital. Conceeding such demand may give rise to similar demands in other states.
Things may go to the extent discarding NE and other underdevloped states from country.

  20. Indian says:

We have a history of Bobbili where a relative killed the king for selfish kingdom. Let us treat this seperatism as another point in history with the help of some selfish politicians. Let us look for another Krishna Devaraya to unite these telugus again by conquering the selfish politicians. It is evident that the politicians are creating factionists and goodas by stating many like addam ga narikestam, nalukalu kostam, yikkadaku ranivvam. The selfish politicians also fuelling to the fire through funding as mentioned by Mr. Manda Krishna. These selfish politiciens creating naxalism through aggressive statements for taking law into their hands and not allowing the governance in the state. These selfish politicians also creating terorrism in the state by warning government that there would be a nuclear fusion if the state is not given. Let us understand the fact that there is a genuine opportunity to take the injustice to the niotice of the Sri Krishna Committee. Why are these people not allowing the same. Please understand the selfish motive behind it. There was a leader who stated openly looking for CM post. All innocent people taking lives because of these false commitments by these politiicans. It is clear that there is a funding from one of the politician for disturbing the state, He also calling the slang as a mother by insulting own mother telugu. I will definitely say all telugu biddalu will become Bobbili tigers to take revange if the state is seperated as all teulugu biddalu liberated the brothers fron Nizam and land lords ages ago. Please do not under estimate the telugu biddala pourusham as a weakness due to their silence of bearing brotherhood. Jai Hind

  21. M says:

Please do not attribute this 'division of state' thing to the entire Telugu race. Around 15 crore people in India speak Telugu but only approx 9 crore populatiion currently living in the state of Andhra Pradesh are going to be affected. That means even if the state were united, we have not united all the telugu speaking people. Dividing the state does not weaken the strength of the telugu race (if there is one!).

Well done in gathering so much information in such a little time. I have certainly learnt a lot from your blog about my state that i left 7 years ago to work in the UK.
Though i hail from costal andhra and would prefer a united andhra pradesh, i do not have any problems in seperation if thats what makes people living in telangana happy. But, i worry that the seperation issue is not going to make any difference in a common man's life. The people to benefit are the politicians who now have more number of posts and money to siphon for their personal gains.
    God save us!!

  24. lovely_santu143 says:

    Hi All,
My name is Santosh from Hyderabad working as Project Development Manager for a MNC. I would like to share few comments or few my past experiences. I have travelled almost every part of India.
Now we Telugu people are in real bad situation. Where oneside in my home town Hyderabad their is "Separate Telangana Agitations" and other side in my State "United & Separate Andhra".  Once in Doordarshan National channel there was a small add where a man breaks a single stick easily, two sticks easily and three sticks easily. When he was asked to break a bunch of sticks he didn't that the power of Unity.
Secondly my Telangana politicians are saying Telangana state because it is "Dharma Poratam" "Atma Gauravam" etc….. Then do we agree of the fact that even "Terrorists" are also doing Dharma Poratam ""Jihad""" and are we ready to give our Kashmir to Pakistan? Then give away our Kashmir…..Our TRS activists are also "Terrorists" because they are also spoiling the Public Property and our National Property who has given right to them to attack the public buses, pvt offices and houses of non-residents of Telangana. Prosecute all the Telangana Leaders for killing so many students for their selfish and political games. Are they not "TERRORISTS"??? Onemore thing attacks in Australia, US, UK on Indians are also not wrong because living in a same country same state same place we are fighting with each other for jobs, food etc which are major points for Separate Telangana… Why don't the other country people won't attack us….. Then why we Indians are fighting against them.
Telangana is not a state issue but its a National issue. I do agree that Telangana is backward… But find a good solution and everyone will fight to eradicate that instead of Telangana…. Sir even if Telangana state forms tommorrow again the same politicians will rule the state who are currently sitting and enjoying all the deaths of agitations.
Finally….there is a great poem which shows the glory of Telugu
""""MAA TELUGU THALLI KI MALLEPU DHANDA, MAA KANNA THALLI KI MANGALAARATHULU"""
    Please don't change this as"
"""MAA TELANGANA THALLI KI,,,,, MAA RAYALASEEMA THALLI KI & MAA COASTA  ANDHRA THALLI KI""""……… Be as United and serve our Nation…..India is great…..Iam proud to be an Indian and also as a Telugu speaking man.

  26. Ramu says:

    hi,
Let me first tell everyone that i am from Telengana region. And also let me tell my personal feelings.
In the context of telenga issue, People like KCR always praise Nizam and its ruling, and call the Andhra/rayalaseems people as invaders. If andhra pple are called as invaders, then what about Nizam or Meghul who came from countries like Afghan/turkey and invaded our land, killed our kings, and ruled us for centeries during which our culture, heritage, Language and wealth were destroyed. some pple say that Nizam has done lot of development. But as a king, at least for their highness, obviously they do it.  Just because Nizam ruled telangana (and other regions) for 400 years, we should not say that Telengana is a separate/distinct place compared to andhra. If we see beyond nizams, the telugu speaking kingdome was unite for centeries but also includes other areas which are currently in karnataka, tamilanadu etc. Lets anyway forget about non-telugu areas.
coming to the current context, it is true that the sharing of resources is not in the correct portion among the regions based on population. i dont support ppl fighting for separate state. Rather, we should fight for the development with more funds. and for the implementation gentlemen's agreement etc..

  27. Trilok, Real Hyderabadi says:

    hello,
    my dear friend,
you are true nizams are invaders, they came here and destroyed our great ancient  telugu culture, and forced us to learn urdu, and aslo they constructed may canals, schools, collages, and even our great assembley rulling by Andhra rulers. the great rulers from andhra region made zero for us, what new you can see in our hyderabad after nizams except hitech city for americans,
I my opinion Britishers are better than andhra rulers, they came here for business any settled for many years but they did some thing for us, english education to serve Americans and europeans, and many like that and after some years they ruled us they rejected to go out, becuase they says we developed india how can we go from here all our properties are here. now the same situations we are seeing…….
there is no difference between Britishers and Andhra rulers.
the rulers are Andhra, how can we fight with them, how the agreements are made. be concious and be real.
