By Polls: Parkal, Warangal – MCPI

Andhra Pradesh Communists carried the mantle of Telugu unity for many decades. During the armed uprising against Nizam, it is the Telugu brotherhood that brought together leaders like Puchalapalli Sundarayya and Ravi Narayan Reddy to fight against Nizam.  Alas, several communists today have given up the original ideals. While CPI that runs “Visalandhra” wants to divide the state, CPM that stands for integration only pays a lip service to the cause. It is in this difficult environment, MCPI party for the last several years, has strongly stood for the geographical integrity of the state of Andhra Pradesh. In fact, late Sri B.N. Reddy and Sri Omkar of MCPI, I understand, were staunch integrationists.

It is indeed bold of MCPI to stand on a platform of integration in Warangal’s Parkal constituency. We express our gratitude to MCPI candidate Somidi Srinivas for taking a principled position on this issue.

Warangal has a unique position in the history of Telugus. Warangal's Kakatiya Empire holds the distinction of uniting the Telugus that were scattered across many small principalities after the demise of the Satavahana Empire. Unfortunately, our electoral politics are no longer won by principles and philosophies. Our elections are for the most part won via money, caste, creed, and religion. It is in this difficult electoral environment, we urge integrationists in the Parkal constituency to support MCPI candidate and make the voices of Telugu unity heard.

Visalandhra Mahasabha is conducting a press meet in the Somajiguda Press Club at 11.00 AM on Wednesday, June 6th. Leaders of Visalandhra Mahasabha and MCPI will address the press during this meet. You are welcome to participate in the event.

The value of Indian democracy is a bottle of beer with crispy thousand rupee note(there is an inflationary increse from Rs.50 to Rs.1000) . our democracy is a fools paradise.
How can anybody justify  Gali's candidate  winning elections in bellary or  Jagans party winning in nellore and no wonder few more for Jagan in by elections unfolding.
I am indian voter whose characters are:
    1. I vote for my caste even if it is a dog( sorry for insulting dog)
    2. I vote for those who give me freebies even if that empties coffers and make the state/country bankrupt
    3. I vote for those who can spare a bottle of beer or a bundle of currency.
I always believe in judgement of one wise man than a majority opinion of 1000 fools.
No wonder if these comments met strongly by hysterical remarks from those pseudo  desa bhakthulu and lovers of demo(n)cracy :) but I dont care……. This is reality.
In any case all the best for MCPI. But be ware,Election outcome does not indicate anything except a winner  in  of brutal, unethical and ugly game called elections in India.

      ·         From spiritual faith to great courage
      ·         From courage to liberty
      ·         From liberty to abundance
      ·         From abundance to selfishness

    Chakravarthy, two questions:
    1. Was the late BN Reddy ever associated with MCPI?
    2. Do your commie friends agree to be addressed as "Sri" (and not their preferred "Comrade")?

    • Ramesh says:

      @Jai
      1. Do not understand as to how this question is contributing to the debate. If you have information to share on the subject, please share and contribute positively to this discussion.
      2. Ridiculously irrelevant question. How does it matter ? Are you now taking offense for adding a salutation "Sri". ? Is that another reason for you to ask for Telangana state ? Please answer to the above 3 questions before asking another question.

  3. GK says:

    Chakravarthy,
I feel like your writing is in a sentimental cry baby tone… you are still so adamant on tying telugu language as a reason to keep the governing under one state….separate Govt does not mean that both regions will fly away somewhere else geographically….Kakatiyas were great, but we all know we can't have that kind of goverment in the modern day India… telugu people fought against Nizam/British as they did not like his rule anymore…today's problems are different and people want them to be solved. To get over the mental block, we need get wisdom from the leaders who have seen and dealt with such issues in the country at large from the center.
Given the history and the character of Parkal or Warangal you should now realize the truth behind the movement. Wakeup and accept that there is a big sizable population which does not want to be culturally overshadowed…hear the writers, artists, poets, media and telugu literates of T shouting out loud for space which will lead to more political, cultural and economical development in both regions…I believe there are people in T who are aspiring to be the Chiranjeevi or Chandrababu of T.
We should focus our energies more of rooting out corruption in any way we can rather than continuing with the telugu line of argument…. For we all are telugu speaking should contribute to its culture, language, arts, festivals etc… in any way and not use it for political agenda period.
Saying united because of telugu is nothing but a sentimental blackmailing…. Let us say if T state is formed what does that mean to telugu or your telugu roots? Is A/T will not have telugu anymore?

    • Chakravarthy says:

I am a cry baby? Really? Folks like you are the ones that castigate themselves to second-class citizens instead of raising their head high and saying we are not inferior to anyone. Your inferiority complex is self-inflicted. This is the region that gave India one of the most progressive Prime Ministers since independence. Policy differences aside, KCR is a formidable leader that can hold up against Chiranjeevi and CBN combined. Look at the accomplishments of G. Venkataswamy and sons. Have you considered the success of HMTV Vaman Rao? How about Chukka Ramaiah and his contributions to the education sector? You can’t ignore the fact that the seeds of Telugu identity were sown in this region- aka Satavahana, Kakatiya, and Vijayanagara empires. Again, philosophical differences aside, people from this region are running the Naxal movement across the whole country. I can go on and on. Why are you so insecure about your existence? I don’t see you being proud of your region’s accomplishments. You constantly seek evidence to reinforce your biases. I don’t buy the allegations of systemic discrimination. Even if they are true as you claim, I believe in fighting back against discrimination and not run away.

    • Ramesh says:

We should focus our energies more of rooting out corruption in any way
      Totally agree with you.
Please stop the 'T' movement. And 'United AP' movement will stop as a consequence. And then we can all focus our energies for rooting out corruption.

Let them be.. who stops? why a separate state is needed to make someone as “Chiranjeevi of T” or Chandrababu of T”? Tomorrow, if separate T is formed, then the so called Chiranjeevi of T want to become a prime minister. So what he will do? demand T separate country? How silly, that you are calling others as cry babies where as you repeat the same BS (leaving space for T) in every comment.

Which is not the history and character of Hyderabad.
I believe there are people in T who are aspiring to be the Chiranjeevi or Chandrababu of T.
We also believe that there are people in Hyd who want to be Sheila Dikshit or N. Rangaswamy of Hyd
Is A/T will not have telugu anymore?
Will Hyd not have telugu anymore?

I believe there are people in T who are aspiring to be the Chiranjeevi or Chandrababu of T.
There are people in AP who aspire to become amitab bachan or Rajni kanth. But our movies are being over shadowed by hindi and tamil cinema. more than 50% beneficiaries of revenue from our telugu movie /TV industry is only tamils. all most 100% of advertisement models are only Hindi/tamil heroes or heroines.
There are people aspiring to become models in AP. I dont like abhishek bachan coming for idea promotion or madhavan coming for some other ad. Please let me know what I shoud do??/
My culture is being over shadowed by Hindi/tamils. Most of my movie songs start in hindi these days. Half of dialogues are in Hindi. when somebody has to talk about south culture in north they only depict tamil culture. i too want telugu lanugage to enjoy its glory and norh people recognise us, as much t people want their slang to be reconginsed. Pleaes let me what to do??

I am afraid,, culturally festivals like holi or rakhi have never been part T festivals 100 years ago. Now our culture is being over shadowed by up north. We celebrate holi and rakhi festivals more than our own festivals.   Please let me know how do we stop getting hooked to some other's cultures and save own.
we have never had mehindi or sangeet kind of events in our marriges before. These days I am seeing these events in more than 60% of marriges. Please let me know how to save our cultural forms of wedding celebrations
We have never had ganesh chaturthi celebrated like the way we do before 50 years. This festivities began in pune to satisfy crave for marathi identity. Please let us know how we can come out this marathi influence in hyderabad to save our culture relating festival celebrations.

Iam also afraid about this. Our T culture is being culturarlly over shadowed.
have u noticed.. Sangeet or Mehendi has never been part of our cultural celebrations. these days u can see most of wedding celebrations hosting these events. How can we stop North culture creeping into even our wedding celebrations?? How can we stop this
Holi or Rakhi have not been festivals in T before 100 years. These days these festivals enjoy more participation than our very own Bonal?? what is ur take on this. How can we stop this
Ganesh Chaturthis celebrations have never been the way we are doing it from past 30 years. Infact they are of Pune origin. But they some how crept into our tradition and changed the way we celebrate ganesh chvithi. How can we stop this Marathi influence inour festivals.
20 years back, we never used call our sankranthi  as Pongal. Now tamil culture is slowly creeping in. Every where these days u only see hoarding saying happy pongal or people saying happy pongal during sankranthi days. How can we stop this aggressin from TN
Akshayathrithi has never been our festival even until 10 years back. This more celebrated in North. I am seeing these akshayathrthi does more business than deepavali itself for gold purchaess. Somehow this festival has been forced /engineered into our culture. How do we save our cultural identity??

Big B******t. What stopped them to reach out to people in entire AP? Are they inferior to their counterparts from other regions? No way!
It was only creation of T-vaadis to attract more people into separatist thought.

    >>> economical development in both regions
No need to repeat it again and again. Economic development in all regions more or less same. Even more development is possible in united state if harmony is maintained.
    >>> you are still so adamant on tying telugu language as a reason to keep the governing under one state
Funny! There are no hints that state will be divided and Chakravartys argument holds good until the state is actually divided.

    >>> We should focus our energies more of rooting out corruption in any way we can rather than continuing with the telugu line of argument….
Good! Let us take Marathi line of argument to root out corruption.
BTW, corruption seems to be real uniting factor for all regions. See TRS change of stand. A pro-united AP Jagan was not welcome. But mother of jailed Jagan is welcome.
On serious note. Stop these foolish tactics. Do not thrust corruption, child-marriages, law and order, live-in relations etc etc etc into VMS agenda.

    >>>  For we all are telugu speaking should contribute to its culture
Come on! it is possible even today in united AP.

  11. GK says:

    Sera,
I am not opposed to your HYD demand. Lets put it out to people who are responsible to make the decision.
One thing we need to agree is that no two in India or the whole world are of the same area or population etc…so lets not kid ourselves with linking one with the other.
Let us keep the discussion with a sportive spirit. I feel T people get too emotional on the streets but here on this website it is the United/A people who are emotional…
No matter what the eventual decision, I think we all should meet sometime in the future and show solidarity with all telugu people.

  12. global village says:

    @GK,
A logical question to you becomes a emotional comment.
Since you have been crying on cultural identity of Telangana, I am also equally concerned about it, where our rituals as part of our festivals or wedding celebrations or other cultural events are being influenced by non AP origin. I am seeing this more rampant in last 15 years. Our language is being higly adulterated. No wonder some of of UN sources put Telugu as dying language in next 100 years.
I am also equally worred that  our telangana youth who aspire to be models/amitab bachans, have absolutely no chance since all opportunties are grabbed by people from north/tamil origin. Does it not bother u or u r only worried if  you these opporunities are picked by only Seemandhra people/
Politically or Burecractillcay, we telugus have never enjoyed any big esteem in Delhi. We as a state or T as region has lost many of PSU investments or rail way projects or central governent jobs to other regions. Does it not bother u or ur only bothered if any of the project is grabbed to be put in Seemandhra.
Thousands of jobs in skilled and unskilled segments both in organized and unorganized sector are being filled by people from Non- AP region. There are over 100000 nurses from Kerala inour state. There are over 100000 people in bihar/up in hospitality sector. There are tens of thousands from TN and WB who made into software and BPO sector in Hyderabad. Dont you feel that you we should also try grab these opportunties in our very own city that we worked hard to develop. Or you are only bothered if atleast one of this job is gone Seemandhra guys and you will start shouting maa udyogalla dopidi?
9 out of 10 business opportunities in Hyderabad lies in hands of non Telugu people/non telangana people. Are u guys not worried about the fact that T being enterprenurally backward loosing opportunites to others. or You only  worried if one of such thousands of opportunties is grabbed by people like bommana or chandana, no matter even if lion's share is gone to non-AP.
Grow up GK. Let us make our region self sufficient. Dream our T be self sufficient. A place where we produce our clothes, food products etc., Infact our every need should be capable of being produced in T region(saving principles revovling around economies of scale ). Can t  u think of Diamond cutting and jewellary industry to flourish Jagitayal where there are thousands of Acharis like it can do in Rajhasthan. Please think this industry alone over 30000 crores. Cant it change the shape of whole Karimnagar. Your politicans are making u fools. They are showing andhra as 'Boochi' and for thier own political gains. But the real boochi is our very own bankruptcy in terms our thoughts.
Develop love for ur regions products when u go to market to buy your needs. Be Telangana and buy Telangana. When u see 9 out 10 motor bikies are TVS TN roads, you will understand why TN is a progressive state or when u see 90% gurjathis set up their mfg plants in only Gujarth and confine to trading in remaining states you will know why Gujarath is next to none in India.

  13. Praveen says:

In recent bypolls, Congress MLAs said if people vote for Jagan, it will lead to division of AP. Considering that Jagan party won most of the seats, it seems people are in favor of division or they don't care even if state is divided.
I think Congress has no other option now other than dividing the state to solve the issue permanently.

  14. GK says:

You are inducing hatred towards other people or regions which I completely oppose…
My mention of CBN or Chiru is with respect to their political roles. I don't why you introduced Amitab and models… Again there is nothing wrong in their success but by have two states we will have another leadership developed in T which will solve the problems with a perspective more suited for T people.
Everything you said I am in agreement and I strongly believe having two states will not obstruct anything if not it will only accelerate the objectives you laid out for all the telugu people..
I feel proud from the sucess of every telugu person and will always do…
Why don't you list the things that are beneficial for telugu people by having two states and we can debate on them..

  15. Prabhakara Rao says:

    >>> One thing we need to agree is that no two in India or the whole world are of the same area or population etc…so lets not kid ourselves with linking one with the other
No two things are same in the world. This is fact everybody must agree.
Having said that should every individual live in isolation because one is different from others?
If so, why this linking up of people in geographical area covering 10 districts and give an identity called Telangana?
    >>> I am not opposed to your HYD demand. Lets put it out to people who are responsible to make the decision.
Many like me are not opposed to separate state. As you said we  wanted people responsible for this to make decision. Has anybody respected our voice?
Why the decisions of past decision makers are questioned today? Why then we people from SA are called looters for their decisions?
Why not wait for present decision makers take a call instead of dividing the people emotionally?

    >>> on this website it is the United/A people who are emotional…
Yes, we are emotional for good cause. Our effort is to educate people against hate mongers for a better society.

  16. GK says:

We know that new districts were created in the past. Recently there was a proposal submitted by minister Dokka to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, suggesting at least seven to 10 new districts need to be created in the state for administrative convenience and effective delivery of welfare schemes. Does this answer your extremist argument of "every individual living is isolation". This will have no weight in any intellectual debate.
We all believe that we are voicing for a good cause, let us respect that and find a solution that will make sure the major goodness from all is not lost in finding a solution.

  18. global village says:

@GK: "You are inducing hatred towards other people or regions which I completely oppose…"
Telangana movement itself is found  on hatred on Seemandhra. It is all lies against seemandhra and its leaders(unforunately you guys did not even spare leaders and freedom fighters like Tanguturi and Alluri seetha rama raju) that formed core and germination of an idea called Telangana state.  There is nothing extra hatred i am inducing even by a  miniscule more than what guys have propogated.
I always wonder, the saint in you wakes up, shouts 'spreading hatred', when discussion about opporunties/culture and traditions/ food and habits/ languauge its glory lost by Telangana to NON-AP people/cultures/food habits/lanuguages etc. You were not even perhaps inclined to get to basic investigation of encroachment  of  Non-AP sources into Telangana and  its culture, language, tradition and opportunites in it.
But movement the discussion comes on opportunities lost to seemandhara ( atlest as debated)  you guys jump to contribute tons and tons of materials, search through archives, burn your mid night oil to find some rubbish evidences and make all efforts to prove your point. The so called saint shouting 'hatred' does not wake up at that time.
Therefore GK, what should be corrected is your mindset against seemandhra that grossly biased and ignited by some irresponsible politicians.
As far as you two states philosophy for administrative convinience is concerned, though I can agree in principle(small states is a much debated concept though), I am still wondering why 10 distiricts that were formerly under nizam. Can we think of south of krishna and north of krishna as two seperate states(after all they will also become small states).
But before a decission is taken on state unity or state seperation(which we will oppose eternally upcourse), can u advice your so called scholars at osmania university doing half naked dances to gaddar tunes to indulge in a struggle for atlesat one one motor vehcile industry in one our Telangana districts that can pave way for one more detroit or gurgaon or hosur.  :)   You may want to know that Toytoa once wanted to setup its manufacturing facilities in Zaheerabad(medak) but pulled off, Even Tata Nano was here in Rangareddy only to be welcome by radical mobs singing so called viplava sahityam….

You can stop your argument at the level that is convenient to you. You claimed you are not opposed to Hyd demand to increase level granularity. Does it stop there?
I read Sera in more than one forum. Maybe you are the first one, in almost 2 years, not opposing his HYD demand.
What if some other one comes up and starts demanding old basti as separate unit? Level of poverty and concentration of one community can be good enough arguments.
Will you not object if decision makers agree for it?

I have repeatedly said many like me are not against separate state on various accounts.
But why we are being branded as looters?
You call this hate campaign a good cause?
Even then do you always need a villain for good cause?

    Folks,
Calling looters clearly hurts the feelings of anyone. I sincerely think that no individual should take such comments onto themselves. Masses express things in such movements which cannot be taken literally. Friends there wasn't much animosity before Dec 2009. It is the drama that happened after the annoucement which is a real heart burn to people fighting for T. Your effort started after that announcement. You need to imagine or put yourself in the shoes of people who have been fighting for many many years without any harsh comments.
Now, even today Mr. Chakravarthy denies to accept any truth and facts instead quotes a hand full of successful people and wants to paint a rosy picture to me. Now, should we start listing the people with wealth on bothsides and use that as a measurement. But A people are intellingent and work more and earn more, so how do we compare? On some things that he quotes that the T people have to fight and get them corrected…by that what I assume is the lives of T people are to just fight for justice. It took sixty years for the Govt of AP to appoint an Attorney General from T….
Folks, the fundamental objective is prosperity and then comes telugu. People who love telugu are leaving their land in search of prosperity/livelihood. I believe this has happened because of the neglect/disparity in opportunity seeking/resources to invest/oppression in politics etc…
Let us open our minds/hearts and listen to people of costa or seema or manyseema or hyd, study the viability, empower them to create opportunity by giving the hope. Let people move whereever they want. In this process of disintegrating the power, let us not loose the benefits that we have today.

Wow.. great preachings GK.. So, could you educate how we need to take those slogans?

By the way, I have a curious question here.. If some goon in a movie spoke in a dialect, then why you people get offended though it is fictional and considered it as mocking T people? and here you are advocating, the other way, when people calling other regions as looters in reality .. What a hypocrisy sir ji.. Hats off..

      >> It is the drama that happened after the annoucement which is a real heart burn to people fighting for T.
Isn’t the events prior to it and announcement itself is not a drama where the Chief minister of state is completely unaware of the announcement?

      >> fighting for many many years without any harsh comments.
Could you tell me on what basis the so called ‘fighting’ was happen before dec 2009? is it not the same arguments that ‘they are looting water, jobs, and funds”? The T movement was born in a womb of hatred against andhras either in 69 or 2009. Never did it carried on a ‘positive’ ground..

      >> It took sixty years for the Govt of AP to appoint an Attorney General from T
will you ever thought with a sane mind that how a attorney general post is mattered for a specific region? is it another level of ‘samajika nyayam’ that our 2.5yr party introduced? A Rotation policy for each post based on region, cast, religion etc..
Have you ever questioned yourself “what went against telangana by not having an attorney general representation?” instead of blindly cribbing that T never get an attorney..

thanks for your motivational words in rest of ur comment.. I found similar in chetan bhagat’s

    >>> … It is the drama that happened after the announcement which is a real heart burn to people fighting for T.
You still did not learn healthy debates. SA people (emphasis added) were not serious about a decade old campaign against them. But T people felt heart burn by just two week agitation?
How that agitation was different from expression by masses? What is wrong in SA leaders/people making claims on Hyderabad?
Why T leaders started threats of cutting tongues and hands? You provoke but want others to be Budhaas.

Many leaders and people objected to Dec 7th all party resolution too.
Delhi made announcement before their voice reached even Hyderabad.

    >>> You need to imagine or put yourself in the shoes of people who have been fighting for many years without any harsh comments.
Know your facts before making tall claims. There is enough news available on 1969 movement. Read that and justify yourself.

    >>> Now, even today Mr. Chakravarthy denies to accept any truth …
What is truth? Let us not get into same old accusations. Most allegations were refuted with sufficient proof.
There will always be some errors and anomalies. What matters is margin of error.
If TG people really expected such ideal brotherhood from SA they should had fought their own leaders instead of people from other side.
Jai Andhra was missed opportunity for them. Even today why they are attacking SA people instead of taking up the issue with center? Why they not question the leaders who claim Telangana will come in two weeks, two months? And those who say we have confidence in our amma.

    >>> Folks, the fundamental objective is prosperity and then comes telugu.
People are leaving for better prosperity.
Enough evidence is provided that both AP as a whole and TG as well have prospered compared to many regions and states in this country.
(Of course it was before 2009. Thanks to 2 year turmoil now indices may be a bit down)

    Coming to leadership
(even after 1969, 72 movements) NTR, YSR and even CBN to good extent could reach out to TG people.
In just concluded Parakal election YS Vijaya dared to enter TG and even campaigned. She even said ఆయన అనేవారు తెలంగాణ వచ్చినప్పుడు వస్తుంది అభివృద్ధి జరగాలి అని.
They got more than 30% votes
Similarly MCR and PV are well received by SA people.
Why present TG leaders do not reach out to SA people?
With good strategy a Velama leader can impress Uttarandhra.
A Reddy from Nalgonda/Mahaboobnagar can reach out seema and sarcar districts.
Leave alone reaching out to SA, did they ever try in TG itself?
Today is KCR acceptable to more than two or three districts?

In 57 years there is only one CM from Krishna district and NO CM from 5 districts EG to Srikakulam.
Are they clamoring for political space? Demanding separation for political space?

    >>> Let us open our minds/hearts and listen to people of costa or seema or manyseema or hyd, study the viability
Let us not be over idealistic. After all you may be right about people from various regions.
But such debates will be nothing but opening pandora box. Recollect your own …no two in India or the whole world are..
Given a chance more people will see differences than commonalities.
Can we meet all those wishes?

If we really allow larger debate why Kosta should be a state, a separate country itself is viable.
Again do not call it extreme arguments. I may accept the same but there is no guarantee that no one else will have this notion.

Forget about CM, None of our Constituency MLAs have ever been appointed as a Minister. That too after 60 years of independence. How long are we supposed to wait ?
GOI should voluntarily create a new state for our constituency. This will ensure we have enough political space. :-)

    @GK
You asking for an elaboration/clarification is very much normal.
But there was no need for you to brag saying "Maybe you are the next Plato and Aristotle in the making
" – No matter what your intention, this would be considered as an attitude to belittle the other person and is not healthy for any conversation/debate.

That was addressed to you as I felt that you were just twisting arguments around that phrase. You know what this brings me to some sweet old memory.
One day at the club me and my Telangana friend were having a drink and it became a discussion where he took an extreme position and I was like mocking him like now and you know what he said "Without the seemandhras you know a Telanganite would have got the Nobel prize". I was totally stunned and had no more humor left in me. :)

I am always amused at the way you choose to use language. You must be familiar with Sujais blog by now. In that too when he refers to seemandhras (or even me) he calls us "stupid and idiot" while according to him the entire Telangana people are "naive". How funny.

A rascal like KCR is neither naive nor stupid. He is just a rascal leading thousands to death. It is you and people like you and the leadership of the T movement which is responsible for all these deaths..

BTW does the Parkal result not prove that 70% of the people don't want or don't care about Telangana formation. This issue looks like a passing phase in the long journey of a nation. Get over it and lets worry about what's for dinner.
