Telanganalo Visalandhrodyamam – Book Release Function

Date: Tuesday, April 17th 2012

Time: 11.00 AM

Venue: Somajiguda Press Club, Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh was the first linguistic State that came into existence after India achieved independence. The State came into being as a result of collective sacrifices made by scores of our venerable leaders such as Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, Konda Venkatapayya, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, Suravaram Patap Reddy, Andhra Pitamaha Madapati Hanumanth Rao, Ravi Narayan Reddy, Ayyadevara Kaleswar Rao and many more.

When the dream of a Telugu State was close to fruition, Nehru criticized Telugu’s desire for a linguistic state as bearing a “tint of imperialist expansionism”. A few opportunistic politicians of that era saw an opening to further their feudal politics. They have brought up the demand for a separate Telangana state that will be carved out of erstwhile Nizam ruled Hyderabad State. However, the demand which lacked intellectual honesty, never gained traction.

Right from 1950s, the history of separatist movement is littered with half-truths and falsehoods. Also, ironically almost all the separatist leaders were once integrationists. Some of the prominent flip-floppers are the most respected leaders of the current separatist movement. For example, Konda Laxman Bapuji, the man that was in the forefront of the 1969 separatist movement was originally a staunch integrationist. K.V. Ranga Reddy, Marri Chenna Reddy as well as the current separatist movement leader K. Chandra Shekhar Rao also once strongly stood for integration. There are leaders from Kosta and Rayalaseema who were once integrationists that turned separatists. Former Deputy C.M. B.V. Subbar Reddy and Kakani Venkatratnam fall into that category. This goes on to show the opportunistic nature of the separatist leaders across all regions of the State.

The research material unearthed by Visalandhra Mahasabha shows how the separatist leaders have changed colors and misled people over the past few decades with their false propaganda. Our team came up with an intelligent way of showcasing the hypocrisy of the separatist leaders. They extracted newspaper clips starting from 1950’s as well as quotes of the prominent separatist leaders from the Assembly proceedings. As a result, readers are presented with the original content from the last sixty years, that will take them by surprise.

This book will be an eye opener for anyone that was led to believe that Andhra Pradesh State came into existence against the wishes of people of Nizam Telangana state. VMS offers ample evidence to prove that there was a groundswell support for a united Telugu State across Nizam Telangana, Coastal Andhra, and Rayalaseema in 1950s.

As the separatists make an attempt to revive their movement by feeding false information to the young minds, this book will provide a perspective that is badly needed in the countering the divisive propaganda.

After the book is released, a link to the soft copy of the book will be posted on this website and http://www.visalandhra.org.

I request you to join us and show your solidarity for a United Andhra Pradesh State.

Sakhamuri Suguna was going to come, but her health has not been well. In addition to them Kumar Chowdhary Yadav from Hyderabad, K. Srinivas Reddy from Karimnagar, Raviteja from Mahboobnagar will be there too. I know you can't stand it.

    • A MAHENDRA says:

      @ Hi Telengana,
"These andhra people will not change".
Please explain in details what do you mean by Andhra People? Who are these Andhra people? What is difference between Andhra People and Telugu people? What is the difference between Telugu people and Telengana people?  And last but not least, what is the difference between so called cunning Andhra people and innocent Telengana people?
Your elaborate explanation with historical context will be more appreciated.
They always want to create some disturbances in hyderabad against the telangana

What kind of disturbance has been created by these so called Andhra people in Hyderabad? Are they perpetrating or encouraging any violent activities in Hyderabad to disturb its peace and tranquillity?  Are they attacking any shops or burning private and public vehicles? Destroying public properties?

Please explain. Otherwise it should be treated as an allegation without any substance.

    How funny.
@ Jai (if you are reading). These are exactly the statements that leave us (non-telugu Hyderabadis) scracthing our head. Where did they (andhra people) create disturbances. Isn't it the friends of the like of Telangana who did it? Me wonders what is the conscience levels of a person who writes this. In what mindset form can someone write this. Like I said there are people who have been brainwashed to believe that once Telangana is formed all the andhra people will be forced to leave their houses and cars and the Telangana people will get them all.
