    ~~1.Yes

2.All rhetoric..was in UPA agenda for two terms. I headed a comittee years ago, all T politicians demand T. A long pending issue deserves permanent solution.

    3. Wisemen in Delhi took SK report into consideration. Telugu people of T are happy, residual state people should spell out why they are not happy…

    5. Article 3 was written keeping hostile states and people in mind. President must uphold the spirit of article 3 in liberating any opperessed minority regions..Suggest AP people support it as a good guesture.

    8. The people of T are also not in favor of Governer getting special privileges…but it is the sacrifice or comprise they will be imposed on to satisfy the egos of seemandhra people.

    9. Concerns over 371 D&E will be taken care of by the cabinet…Feel free to approach the courts and action will be taken if proven wrong.

    10. This is the best reason for you to start a fight for separate nation as Tamils did in the past…Soon there will anti-hindi and anti-national voices in andhra…

Take my word…Jagan and his gansters will become Karunanidhi of AP and hard to get rid off…Media, religion, mining, movies, corporate colleges and infra businesses… who can stop him…you guys are shamelessly behind the helpless T people…but can't dare to put even 1% of your energy in stopping a rogue politician…he is going to have 9 people from his close family contest the elections…can visalandra get 1 person stand up?

    • Mann says:

GK, you gave one very important reason on why the state should be united. A united AP will contain the rogue Jagan as he lost much ground in T. But I dont expect you understand this because you are blinded by hatred for the people belonging to SA.

    • satya says:

      >> Article 3 was written keeping hostile states and people in mind.

oh really? so bihar and jharkhand hostile states? uttarakhand and UP hostile states? MP and chattisgarh hostile? then how these assemblies passed unanimous resolutions to form new states?

u imply to say ppl of andhra and telangana are hostile but there appears nothing on the ground to prove it. They have common business ventures, matrimonial alliances, financial deals,  living in same localities, working in same environments and all.. where is the hostility?

    • Ved says:

Gk says '3. Wisemen in Delhi took SK report into consideration. Telugu people of T are happy, residual state people should spell out why they are not happy…'

this is the most foolish statement and i hope the T vadis stick to this when the division terms are reversed after 2014 election. The current terms of division are set only for political gains , not because they are intimidated by T vadis udyamams or they give a hoot about their claims of injustice. When the  ruling govt at center finds political gains in the opposite way, the terms of division will be exactly opposite ( again not because they love people of SA). I hope you guys don't cry then. This is a story of monkey trying to resolve the dispute between two cats. So be ready for it.

  2. GK says:

    4. These dramas go on all the time…nothing new to me.

    6. If AP assembly wants to send a resolution in favor, fine…but it is not a mandatory requirement at this stage…

    7. This is a negative thinking approach…GOI wants to ensure that there will not any hardship to both states during the separation and the joint capital intention is for both to use Hyd till residual AP gets the infra ready…challenging this is not in the right spirit.

    "—- తెలుగు ప్రజలకు భారత దేశంపై వ్యతిరేక భావాలు కలిగించే విధంగా లేదా?"

I can attest that the above statement is a real possibility and not an empty threat.  I heard this alienation from India feeling during the 1972 Jai Andhra movement spear headed by B.V. Subba Reddy.  There were rumors rife at the time about plans to ask foreign forces to intervene to help separate Andhra.

    • GK says:

Wondering why the feeling of alienation? Is it because, T/Hyd is being let go? What was the reason in 1972? When the 2 regions merged Hyd helped SA people establish themselves leading to today's businesses like chandana brothers, bommana brothers, reddy brothers, big bazars etc….but SA talk as if they brought Hyd in their arm pit to T. SA people not only will continue their businesses in Hyd but they will open new businesses in the new capital…T has been a very loyal consumer base for SA businessmen…hope T people will be welcomed in soon to be SA capital…

We are here to oppose to unjust division of a state. Not to indulge in your petty wishful speculations of how things wil turn out to be,

      • P. Rao says:

Hello GK garu, Please consider the following and if you can agree that there is some truth to it, then we can discuss issues in this forum kindly provided by Mr. Chakravarti garu.  Otherwise there is no meeting ground and any more interaction will only result in more static and vitriol.  I am going through all this since you asked why the feeling of alienation. I can explain to you after we agree on some facts.

Telangana was a train wreck situation in 1948. Coastal Andhras went with open heart and restored the T people to normalcy with gifts of language, education, and agriculture. But the reaction from the present T-movement is any thing but gratitude towards their fellow Telugus.

I give you another example.  Lots of blue collar and college educated Sikhs migrated to west during 1960's and 1970's and started to earn a living wage for the first time. Instead of being grateful to India they started to imagine a lot of grieviences and wanted a separate country for themselves and began funding the Khalistan separatists. Their main complaints were that Hindus say Sikhs are part of Hinduism (in other words, Hindus say Sikhs are part of us and our own brethern).  Indian government did not rename toofan express train as Punjab Mail or the government did not broadcast sikh bhajans (Gurbani) on the radio.  I see a lot of similarities with the present separate Telangana movement and the Khalistan movement that was.

Due to the IT revolution all over the world a large number of Telangana computer personnel found immediate employment after graduating from innumerable colleges around Hyderabad built by government or private individuals from Andhra with  teaching staff from the coastal Andhra. They are now indulging in all kinds of infantile fantacies.  Oh! some one once laughed at my accent or some villain in some movie talked Telangana accent. Let me get even, start a Facebook page and start a flame war on "them".  Apprarently, there are now one lakh Telanganites in Atlanta region alone in the U.S.  All this progress happened in one or two generations.  That is nothing short of a miracle, if you study human progress across centuries and continents.  Lambadis moving around Hyderabad in BMWs.  Aren't you happy when you hear that or start vitriol about Andhras (often a code word for Kammas).    Let me remind everyone for the first 25 years of Andhra Pradesh formation, the said community did not hold any significant portfolio in the state cabinet.  It is the reliable water  supply provided by Mr. Cotton that helped them.  Be assured that Andhras or specifically Kammas did not have a hidden agenda to rob Telangana. And division of the state is not a solution to nonexisting problems.

PS:  British were no friends of Andhras, but Andhras revere Arthur Cotton for building the two barrages across Krishna and Godavari and British district collector Charles Brown for rescuing the Telugu language from near extinction.

It is not worth losing our humanity on trivialities and start demonising "others."  .

        • ram says:

this post is saying something like Telangana People never existed before 1948…Andhras taught how to eat…isn't this something foolish feeling. Along with Telangana People there were many IT guys in US and across… Most annoying comment is " Its a miracle that telangana people are working in IT" …ah …what the idiotic Andhra. Andhra came from Madras with zero budget and looted the money from Telangana Budget..read those facts from this blog owner,,,,

        • LR says:

This guy (P. Rao garu) is the reason we should get the state divided. He starts with garu and then everything else is hatred/pitiness. We are in IT because of them, we are educated because of them, we are living good life bacause of them, we are even existing today because of them. How stupid and arrogant is this guy. I don't like to call names on public forums but this guy is impossible.

People like me, who are on the fence, need to see/meet/interact with people like you to jump over the fence and be shameful of being on the fence. I am and I thank you Mr. P Rao garu for making my decision easy.

    • Reddy says:

And they keep assuring that Andhras will be treated well in the Telangana state and no threat exists to them?

        • P. Rao says:

I agree with you. It is quite obvious.  To their credit, the T-vaadis never kept their hatred for Seemandhras a secret. So it is up to the Seemandhras to come together and organize themselves and diffuse the situation and be ready to defend themselves.  In public life you have to be vigilant and fight for your legitimate rights all the time. No body will do it for you.

  7. Chandra says:

I read JP said some things which should not be said which can create panic among people. I dont know who threatened him and asked him speak few words.

The funny part is when Telangana separatists started telling lies few years back they knew that they were lies. But after dec 9th when everybody in T were paying attention to the lies and started believeing them, the original liers themselves started believeing that there might be some truth in those lies as somany people are believeing. Now everybody is in some foolish land and  JP is also completely brainwashed.

What is his basis that Telangana people are supporting separation and not development and telugu unity? Which districts are supporting and what about the demographics of Hyd and RR? When u speak like a statesman u need to consider everybody. Not just few extremsists. People thought if Punjab was not divided there would be enormous damage to people. What happened now?

Unity and national integrity are more important than regional fundamentalism . Instead of extremism is crushed with an iron fist these fools are yielding to it. If you move an inch from this, India will implode within  20 years.

Sorry he is neither a politician nor a leader. Is he thinking of retiring after 2014 or what? He  better work towards bringing consensus with moderates in T and show his work and results, before giving any imaginary statements.

    • VK says:

I totally agree with your comment. JP also started playing vote bank politics (supporting telangana to align/merge with AAP).

  8. Chandra says:

Couple of days back, economist(former planning comm memebr of GOI), supporting T, Ch Hanumantha rao  in some event "worried about"  majoritization of democracy. Does he understand that separatists are asking T based upon "Majority of T opinion"? If he thinks only minority opinion should be respected then as per separatists, "minority" of people in T are against bifurcation. So AP should not be divided.

I mean, whats their plan and principle? When u want T, u claim that majority of T opinion should be considered. But when the AP bifurcation issue comes up, minority opinion (T separatsists) shoud be considered as majoritization of democracy is not good. There is no end to the  hypocrisy and  double standards of these self claimed intellectuals roaming around these districts in T and soliciting  their opinions.

Frequent Illogical and self contradictory statements from Sudershan reddy, madabhushi, this Hanumantha rao et al is not good for the long term reputation of Telugus from telangana and other districts, staying abroad.  It's embarrassing whenever they open their mouths and display their gibberish ideas.

  11. Chandra says:

CM of AP is doing an excellent job so far being one of the boldest CM's fighting against the tyrannical attitude of GOI, which is thinking like an emperor of Indian states. The fools at New Delhi should understand what their place is in a democratic India .

CM of Andhra pradesh should officially reprimand the Home ministry of India for its irrespnsible, unprofessional and incompetent behaviour by displaying their inability to furnish details before taking an opinion on an important issue. He should do it on the floor of the assembly, so that it will be on the record and should be let known to all news channels in India. This will be a future reference also.

AP assembly should explore options to file a suit on HM, ex HM minister Chidambaram for creating civil unrest in the state of AP on dec 9th 2009 by foolishly giving statements(Inspite of then CM's advise) leading to anarchy in the state for 4 years. Filing such a suit is more important than thinking about how far it would survive.

Kiran, we are the idiots to seek relationship with these people.

Today not a single person from AP owns any business in K-G Basin.

The slogan mana gas mana hakku was totally rejected by people from all walks.

Because we understand not only business but larger interests of the nation and people.

These guys from Telangana continue to live in medival ages. They understand only bhoomi and matti. They demand huts where bunglows can be built.

Whatever is the loss now, we should come out of the Telugu pride and save future of our children. We can definitely make it better without these people lost in time.

  13. Anonymous says:

An earnet request to people and politicians of seemaandhra.

Please accept the division for our own benefit and integrity of the nation.

First I will touch integrity of the nation.

The people in power in Delhi long lost the sense of nationalism. They understand the long term consequences of division with consensus. Yet they are not worried about it. Simple because they lost sense of nationalism. The unfortunate sitaution is BJP that is supposed to be party with Nationalist outlook too fell for the sentiment politics. They have an opportunity to fulfill thier promise in an cardial environment resulting in win-win situation. Right now BJP gave preference to votes than Nationalism. They do not want to loose the already insignificant vote in Telangana. The bottom line is division is inevitable. The least we can do is pretend consensus for the sake of this Nation. Otherwise in future a strong center will fragment the nation without any consensus.

I also request not to approach courts. It is possible that courts rule in the favor of center based on extra-ordinary and discretionary powers vested to center by Article 3. This will only encourage GoI to exercise extra-ordinary and discretionary powers in all aspects of the governance. We will go back to the era prior to judgement on Bommai case. This may lead to the situation of freeing Jammu and Kashmir with SIMPLE MAJORITY in PARLIAMENT.

In the exitement of realising the separate statehood, Telangana people and leaders are supporting the center in usurprin rights of the states. They are ready for both Governer Rule on Hyderabad and making their CM subordinate to some Cabinet minister in GoI. Its thier choice. But after-all they are our borthers. Thier political imprudence is going to hurt not only both of use but all Indians.

SO I further request to setup new capital immediately, if needed in tents. And drop disputes on river waters.

    contd……

    • Anonymous says:

      Contd….

The debates in assmebly bring out various issues with Telangana politicans.

I would say almost all speeches are sub-standard by any political standards. They lack basic refined manners required in public life.

They know very well that is Telangana is there already. Hence the best way is avoiding confrontation. This could have enhance their image in rest of the country. But they, across parties, chose only onething blame, blame, blame.

Alright, someone may see this is the genuine anger against seemandhra. Such argument will only diminsh the image of Telanganites as hate mongers.

Thier own examples and arguments indicate that they REALLY DID NOT WORK IN ANDHRA PRADESH. All that they did was following respective High Commands.

Today politicians across country taking credit for things not done. But what Telangana politicians doing?

CM and others presented stats of growth and development in Telangana. They dismissed it as thier right. THESE POLITICIANS FROM TELANGANA DID NOT CLAIM CREDIT FOR GROWTH IN TELANGANA. LEAST THEY COULD NOT ATTRIBUTE IT TO THIER HIGH-COMMAND.

Despite nearly 6 decades of association they did not learn the basic of politics. In 1950s Andhra politicians ignore the adage A WISE FOE IS BETTER THAN A FOOLISH FRIEND. Today we are paying for this mistake. I request you let us not inflict such blunder on our children.

Suneetha lakshmareddy could never articulate anything about her own ministry. But she dared CM saying WE WILL STARVE IF NO WATER BUT WE  NEED OUR STATE.

We are one of the few hard working communities in this country. Cannot we build furture for our children? How long we should carry this troublesome baggage? Against the campaign of separatists majority of Telangana are not emotional at all. There is simple reason for this.

The history of Telangana has blank pages for nearly two hundred long years.

They nearly lost sense of identity, a prime mover of growth in my opinion.

Much praised armed struggle is limited to few districts only.

When India got freedom British left this country. This made all Indians shift loyalities to Nation only.

Whereas Doras and Nizam did not leave Telangana after muddled vimochana, vidhroham, vileenam, vimukti. There is no change loyalties. Different sections are loyalties different groups.

By and large loyalty to India was rather affected than genuine.

Till run of the millenium Telangana society was rather inward society and less informed. Hence above problems did not come in the way of AP and India.

Now Telanganas are more learned and more informed. Thanks to gap in history they are trying to invent thier own identity. The first step was disowing Telugu/Andhra identity. It will not be long before they may end up disowning the Indian identity.

It is better that we people of seemaandhra do not become part of this identity game. I believe that we are Indian (despite apathy from ruling communites) and want to be Indian.

I once again request, PLEASE LET IT GO OFF, we may face near term hardships. But we are definitely better of without Telangana people.

  14. VK says:

I strongly oppose your conclusion PLEASE LET IT GO OFF. State separation is no toy to let it go off. The separatin of AP make SA to lose everything. So SA should strongly oppose the bifurcation.

Amputation is not the answer to Cancer that spreads beyond where started (metastatic cancer). Telangana to AP is like metastaic cancer, which needs chemotherapy (counter the lies spread by the separatists) and not amputation (separation).

You send lazy bums to assembly, they do not know what is good for you. But in the end you come up with childish talk. They have two I have only one.

Who brought all central units and institutions to Hyderabad? Are you not enjoying them? Your dumb MPs and Ministers know only onething. Prostrating infront of the family. Your MLAs do not have guts to throw CM out. They bark only in Media unconstitutional unconstitutional … They do not have common sense to demand the high command to remove the CM ASAP.

Even at this point your leaders could demonstrate self-esteem. They do not know what to do except for following order of high command. No word from amma! you are lost.

So zone 5 violations in zone 6 are no different from other violations. Jaundice eyes see everything in yellow, similarly you want fully developed Hyd and sourroundings without doing anything. If you really have heart, then you won't ask for the separation. You should really laugh for saying that you have Dubai Shekar (KCR), Jayashankar (who considers the difference between left hand and right hand as discrimination) etc, who are nothing but shame to humanity. In fact I sad to see such inhumans coming from our great telugu land and also for associting  them with PVN (who was against breaking telugu land).

Why did I post here ? we see separatis politics of TRS aided by Delhi. T sepratism has exactly same logic – Andhras and Telanganas inspite of million similarities cannot live together and need borders sanctioned by Delhi – like 2 nation theory. The propoganda is very similiar that andhras are cunning, control money like hindus were accused by Muslim league. While the consequence of this poison may or may not reach the plight described in pictures. The direction is exactly the same.

@ram, None can counter rayalaseema has one medical college of every district bla bla bal…

suprisingly you dont stop your crap despite all what you get bac in return…

Here is the list for U..

Medical colleges in T – (5 gover+15 private=20 no-2950 seats(every distict in T has atleast one medical collges just to rayala seema or Andhra)

      Medical Colleges in Andhra – (10 private+ 6 government=16) – seats 2350

Meical colleges in Rayala -  (4 govrenment+2 private)- 900 seats

Dont stop after listening Harish Rao.. there are various sites to find out facts that these dirty politicians may want to spread.

Refer to medical council of India site, if you want to know how districts at national level are depriived of a medical college.. you will see T is luckies region.

      • GK says:

Check when the Govt. colleges were established in each of the regions…

Good..you guys have learnt to see facts  by applying convinient filters to get the data  desired by you. Same as mathetical equations such  A union B intersection C intersection D etc..Applying fitler criteria to win a argument.. any region can use this tactics.

Andhra people can also cry foul over stting up of all PSU in hyderabad, secunderabad being head of SCR, ordintance factory, Central universirty, IIT , CCMB  and many many many more…and list goes end list if Adnhra people have to comare their previleged possessions compared to T.

I have seen Harish Raos very intellegently applies these filters..He only reads publicly in press that have some benefit for SA(highlighted again and agin in T news etc.,) and ingores another GO following day that has something to do with T

          Good way of winning arguments.

    • GK says:

      • Kiran says:

No ,,rather it is your brain that is running out of thinking.  I am talking about AP not Andhra. And Indian nationalism was never opposed to presence of Muslims like AP was never formed in opposition to telangana. BD split from Pakistan due to language. Only Pakistan and Telangana are formed on basis of hate and no other valid criteria.

  16. Kiran says:

Congrats to AP assembly for rejecting the bill. They showed a spine and spirit to fight against a Delhi which is acting like an imperial capital.

    • Chandra says:

Good job done by AP assembly. Confused people only say majority tyranny over minority in democracy is a draw back. NO.. Either you convince the majority or accept the majority opinion. There is no other way. Instead if you consider minority opinion, there will be several minority opinions. Which one of those will you take?. The least one?! Is the idea supported by least number of people is implemented?  That is stupidity. If you want to implement the idea proposed by one person in 100 people group with 99 opposing it, no society can survive.  Even in supreme court justice, majority justices opinion is taken.

At the same time the rights of the minority needs to be protected, with majority opinion on policy decisions. Telangana rights have never been violated. So no prob for T in AP.  This is not year 1800 to discuss about philosophy of democracy as  freshmen.

CM of AP should say to the national media that , article 3 is being misused and states can not be bifurcated by lobbying. That is even more dangerous than the method of going with majority opinion. Right now, lobbying is being encouraged in the formation of states. If central governement of India claims complete authority in bifurcation, it leadds to professional lobbying. When AP was formed in 1956, there was no lobbying. Only after both assemblies agreed, central government initiated the process. That's what Amedkar also said. The idea "orginates" from assembly.

      • Kiran says:

I wonder whether majority tyranny applies only to AP . The parliament of india is majority north indian due to sheer population – then why does not media describe any decision by parliament as north indian dominated parliament ?

Second I was not talking about telangana issue specifically. I am talking about the bull shit arguement that by design since most MP come from north india Parliament is once again by design anti-south india.

third people like trs who mesmerize people like you argue that ap assembly by design is anti-telangana but still contest, pour money and fight elections to be members of it. When you are member of it you need to give some respect and cant spout the same nonsense that by design assembly is against them. once again anything goes nonsense of telangana,

  17. mohan says:

Dont you all forget that SA people are fighting against rest of India to save Telugu fraternity and Andhra pradesh and apart from convincing  T brotherin.

Every MP in GOM has some other interest of his own state in T creation. I dont know why T people can never realise Chidambarm, Shinde and Moily are happiest lot when T is created, since it is death of one thier competing state that has given to Mumbai, Chennai and Banglore in terms of grabbing opportunites. It is a double advnatage for Marathis like Shinde since Marthi descendetns can creep slowly into Nizambad, adilabad and get gradual politial supremacny and enterpreneural upper hand. As for Chidambarma it is his lfe dream achieved to kill his toughest competior and enternal threat to rest.

For rest of India they care a foot if AP is divided or not. For business class from noth, it is good it it is divided since the thier biggest competitor from SA graudually loses hold. Other Northies it is good for them since Telugu will lose hold in hyderabad and hyderabad LITERALLY BECOMES A HINDI speaking region.

One day in Hyderabad, T peopole will be rediculed for their language and traditions by new comers, as T people are first ones to get swayed away with foregin culture and language

    • LR says:

People you pointed are suppoting T for their own benefits. ok/may be. Tell me one reason why SA MLA's and MP's still part of the congress govt? Why didn't they resign already? What are they waiting for? For the state to be divided….. What are your reasons to stay united? again selfish reasons like other people you pointed out. Great.

Why can't SA people understand what AP assembly did is nothing but drama by congress for political reasons and fool the people of SA? If they really are against the bill, why didn't they all resign and the goverment in AP would fall and that would/could have stalled the formation.

You can have the last laugh when t-people are ridiculed. You can actually have that fun when that happens.

      • Kiran says:

There is no selfishness in seeking an united democratic AP. There is no selfishness in asking the true basis of division of a progressive state. There is no selfishness in questioning repeatitive lies which change by date and convenience. There is no selfishness in condemniig the division of AP on basis of hate/jealousy/atitudes and the legacy it will create for future generations.

  18. Chandra says:

    I agree with mohan's comment.

Integrationists are fighting pretty much against entire India's politicians and businessmen who are trying for1956 Hyd.. T separatists are miniscule in this. Once SKC report came out, govt of AP could have "calmed down", T agitators within a week. It was completely under the capability of AP govt. But GOI intentionally played this game by softly encroaching into the state govt responsibilities.

Home ministry was determined to do this from 2009 itself. Ministry of home affairs is speaking foolishly on this like our separatists. Sure, in present constitution,by using article 3 India can be divided in to 1200 states and they can make 1200 bills and guide the president of India. "Rajyangabadhanga" like our Sudarshan reddy likes to say.. But same contitution says unity of India also needs to be protected whenever any legal instrument is used.. Since the "strength of the unity" can not be quantified, morons at MHA do not get it easily like our separatists agitators.

Without coming to a consensus, or taking the confidence of all the stake holders, no major decision can be taken. Nether article 3 said like that nor earlier judgements said like that.

I dont think they can get over with this any timesoon. They are playing with fire and sure they will realize it. Nobody is gonna go anywhere.

Kiran, I am afraid the private industrialists in cahoots with KCR will be from the North.  Let me add that 'telangana thalli, bonalu and blah blah' is only one side of the show. In addition, the T-vaadis will continue to taunt and denigrate the scapegoat Andhras, pointing at them for all their future problems causing social unrest on both sides of the border.

PS: After the recent master maneuvering performed by our cricketer Chief Minister in getting the T-Bill rejected in the Assembly and the Council by voice vote, the T movement seems to have entered into the trajectory like Khalistan movement did after the military action on the temple. It turned out to be the last ball he was waiting for.  After the Bill's rejection, the CM went on the national tv (NDTV) and said the T-Bill should be put in the trash can. That is great or what?

Thanks for the link, VK.  Mr.P.C. Rao, a constitutional expert said the whole division process is mismanaged and does not stand legal scrutiny.  And he explains clearly the reasons.  He said a committee (GoM) with neighboring state representatives from TN, Maharastra and Karnataka instead of some experts deciding everything about the division is prejudicial and its validity can be challenged in court.

      • Ramesh says:

The problem is, unless stayed by a court in the next few days, Congress along with BJP can go ahead and perform the bifurcation with scant regards to legality. Once done the process can not be reversed even if judiciary gives it's verdict that the bifurcation is invalid, say, after 10 years.

That is what exactly PC Rao said. Telangana state becomes untenable, even after notification and creating government, if courts sets the process aside as UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

          Got it?

  19. Ashish Kumar says:

The bigger tragedy for Seemaandhra is not the division of the state but coming into power of the YSRCP. So SA has to deal with 3 whammies – division of the state, loss of capital and YSRCP. SA may turn into another BIMARU state with lawlessness, corruption and poverty. Probably, it has to do with natural turn of events for people who have developed a culture of making money at all costs and seeking refuge in govt handouts (free, free, free). Had they simply voted CBN back to power in 2004, AP today would have been truly on par with Gujarat and probably even better.

Surprisingly even today, there is little support to CBN just because he is forward looking like Modi and does not believe in handout culture of the congress.

    • VK says:

I agree with you to some extent but CBN utterly failed to do anything to stop division of the state. In fact, he is trying to use current pathetic situation in AP for vote bank politics so I am really sad that I supported CBN once.

CBN losing in 2004 elections has nothing to do with telangana so why did he change his policy on telanga in 2009 elections. Moreoever, why he still supporting telangana though he lost 2009 elections?

With the exception of few districts in SA, the rest of Coastal Andhra is no different from rayala seema. I do agree that Hyd city has been developed at the expense of the rest of AP, so it is time to use the returns from the investment in Hyd to develop the rest of AP.

Our region in Guntur is least developed though it is on NH5 and MLAs and MPs from our region are responsible for that and therefore it would be stupidity if I bla blame politicians from other regions for this.

If you do agree that Hyd city developed by people from all three regions, how is it justifiable to ask SA to go out and start all over again.

Economic prosperity is not a major issue though t separatists are obsessed about money making oppurtunnities. its about having a secure confident identity though which our present and future generations of telugu people can negotiate their place in India and world. seperate t is bound to create acrimony and weaken telugu people on both sides. when you live in sort of tension watching every move here and there an extra 100 rupees in your pocket does not matter.

    • ram says:

Telugu Unity is Bull Shit – when One Telugu Person Does not care of other Telugu Person.. .Those you cry of Telugu culture or pride should ask the Govts for ignoring backward regions of all telugus — that does not happen … Just this Telugu unity will come only when Telangana Comes …I am PRODU to be TELANGANITE rather than a Telugu Person. I dont feel pride of telugu community but I prefer to introduce as Telanganite. STOP THIS TELUGU CULTURE WHICH DOES NOT HELP MANKIND…

      • Ved says:

What you said is more true of Indian. So what is your next move - separation from India? After all 525 MPs from rest of India are ruling and overriding 17 MPs from T. To make things worse, 25 of the 525 are born on the south and east side of Krishna and Godavari rivers, the rivers that miraculaously makes politicians and people on your side the virtues of truth while making rest of them as cheats.  Or are you the type that you dont care losing two of your eyes, as long as your neighbour loses at least one?

        • LR says:

I agree with Ram here. Telugu Unity only comes into picture when it comes to seperation. What happenned to Telugu unity for last 60+ years of staying united. Then nobody cared about empowering backward regions of both sides. Then it was only taking advantage of the weaker one and nothing to do about Telugu Culture/Pride/People.

@ Ved – I am proud to be Telanganite but first I am a INDIAN. Nobody will take that from us nor we want to. Your logic doesn't make sense as you are comparing peanuts to coconuts. There is HUGE difference there. We are the type who want to separate from the union which didn't help us in any way instead robbed us from any oppurtunities we may have had. We want to choose our own destiny atleast from now and are ready to accept whatever the future is in store for us.

Even T politicians talk about SELF RULE as basis not development etc. In democracy, how can you impose something which is not aceptable to the other effected party. I really don't understand SELF RULE as basis, while all along politicians from T held some of the most important portfolios and were part of the govt. decisions taken by successive governments. It is unfortunate for AP and Telangana in particular that unemployed politicians like KaChaRa are raking up these false issues and pushing our state economically backward.

We are NOT supporting T MLAs aswell for their igorance but we Believe if we have Seperate Telangan our development will move better than this SA CMs. None saw the furture but everone has to vision change and make an effort for change – We are NOT asking the Break the SOIL between – We are just asking to make our own Identity.

Telugu or Andhra identity did not benefit the people of T like it did for SA

movies, media, banks, politics, culture, education institutes…the list goes on and on…

T became a market under the legal state cover for contracts and businesses…

The legal, medical, civil services jobs cannot be allotted by region in a single state and hence T lost immensely. The correction to this is simply two state administrations and nothing more than that…

T people will have to re-discover their identity now. Hyd is for all people to live and flourish…

    • Ashish Kumar says:

Look at the Parsees. They constitute 0.01% of the population of India. Yet they have made their mark in top positions and ownerships in top businesses and running charitable institutions.

Look at the Tulus of Karnataka who are concentrated in about just 2 districts with a 30 lakh population. Yet they have done very well running large businesses, in movie& tv  industry, music and in the private sector.

Now Look at some BIMARU states each with a population of more than 10 crores and with their OWN IDENTITY. Since the last 60 years they have been RE-DISCOVERING and RE-DISCOVERING their IDENTITY but they have NOT PROSPERED. Their politicians have been feeding them excuses and handouts for the last 60 years. Sometimes they blame floods, they blame lack of central funds etc and etc, the list is endless.

The point is that if one wants to prosper one will, no matter state or no state. If one does not want to prosper then one finds excuses.

Telangana people constitute about 4 crores and it looks incredible that someone or some force can subjugate 4 crore people in independent India and allow them not to prosper. Though I am not a Telugu person by birth, I find the argument of T people that SA people have somehow come together to manipulate T region, somewhat non-sensical. Blaming SA people is just an excuse. Now after T state is formed, the T people will find some other excuse not to prosper. The T politicians are very good in that.

To prosper, one has to work hard and believe in oneself and not indulgence in blame game. This is the golden rule. and this is how so many Indians have reached top positions in american companies. I feel sorry for so many T people who believe that the moment T state is formed, they will somehow get jobs, homes and get instantly rich. They have not fully understood their own politicians who had 40% representation in the state assembly for 65 years.

Andhra came from Madras – Andhra has a bridge constructed by British and Sikkolu is having strong relation with Orissa ? If this is cross identity then so we ? Saying YES for telangana for votes and saying NO when time comes is this NOT spineless ness? DONT Over estimate – Once telangana is formed 50% Andhra people will come to HYD for permanent settlement and same with RS…… So who are spineless people ? Lagadapati moved his office from HYD to gurgoan and NOT to VJA- who is spineless — VISHALANDRA organization for you is made by Telanganite – who is spineless people ?

  29. Anonymous says:

    ram,

you can go on ranting anything. The fact remains that you people do not work for your own benefits. This is the trend for last 400 years. You were sleeping under Nizam rule. Now you are inventing your own race (of course thanks to the great Italian waitress) after your districts got everything. But you never produced a LEADER.

Providence always helps the weak and incompetent. Otherwise the nature will break into chaos. Enjoy the wealth left behind but do not venture into so called punar nirmanam. Because hard working is not in your culture or nature. Once you start working you will lose sympathy and will be forced to work forever.

It is better for you to be lazy and sing maisamma only. Once you appear cultured, others will pounce on you. Needless to say you are not capable of protecting yourself. Of course, every leader will not be italian.

    • ram says:

Agree we were under Nizam and at the same time your were under british – Didn't you learnt this?

We produced Great Leaders like PVN, KCR and many more – Is this enogh ? Hard working is the only thing we learnt – trying to do agriculture without water and electricity ? Dont think hard work means doing agricultrue with looted abundant water ? We got jobs in tough competitions inspite SA voilations ? You got into Secreteriat in the back door and mass coping – Is this your hard work? Well, its you guys are lazy just making money with free water in SA region without paying any taxes and we are always hard working. Atleast, we are visioning and thinking for Punar Nirman but you guys are saying let SA region die we will settle in HYD ? Do you see the difference between us and you. It will take some time for you to understand our vision and abilities ofcourse you saw the power of PVN and KCR….YOU DONT HAVE LEADERS BUT YOU HAVE LOOTERS

      • ram says:

One more Clarification – LEADERSHIP means NOT Standing/Cunning on promises – LEADER SHIP means influcing poeple and asking for people benefits –  None of you SA politicians who you called Leaders stand by their words – Hence they are NOT leaders – LEADER means stand tall to the promises and influence crores of people – Can you SHOW a single person from SA Region who can Match KCR… you are still not able to make an intellectual forum like we have with Kondandaram – Just dont bark – Realize. Realize… We know you were encouraged to do mass coping in your schools but unfortunately in real life mass copy does not work ? you have to really work hard like T people did ?  Do you HAVE a SINGLE LEADER for United AP Slogan like we have for KCR ? Can you SA politicians open a Party like TRS for United AP? Just wash dirt from your brain and look with reality.

  30. Kiran says:

GK, you are a liar and you know it. The so called benefits you parrot have not reached 95% of seemandhra as well. And what about benefits of being in india ? bollywood roles, employment in public sector banks, corporate placements – they havent reached 99.99% of telangana or seemandhra. AP, India are all in work in progress. you have no legitimate reason for telangana and you have chosen enimity with more than 7 crore people being mad and driven by greed. And that may not be without consequences.

    • GK says:

The state machinery is at the service of SA politicians much more than it is for T politicians…

      Again I repeat…Water->leads to->Education->leads to->Development and eventually prosperity…

Because of free water SA farmer's hard work turned into wealth…cash and govt in hand they did good last few decades…some achieved financial success ethically and while others are examples of crony capitalism…

      • VK says:

Israel has no water but they are using their education to do miracles in agriculture.  Kerala has both water and education but their prosperity come from hard working malayalees in Gulf. Bihar and UP has lot of water and there is no evidence to suggest water made them more educated. Until recently, those go for studies have nothing to do with water in AP.  So your theory of water leads to education is nothing but a theory made to fit your argument.

There is no water in Ananthapur but it is not lagging behind in education when compared to other districts in that region.

Let us assume what you said is true (water leads to education to development).  Education in telangana is relatively low before 1956. If it were because of lacking water, then why blame seema-andhra now for stealing its water.

      • Mano says:

GK, what you said is correct until 30 years back. Some areas in Andhra are lucky because of their geography and because of the vision of the Britishers who created extensive canal network. Sure those farmers and communities became rich and diversified into other fields.

But you are a fool if you think the same can be replicated today. Building a new network of canals will help bring down the prices of grains, but since there is so much competition, the farmers will not get rich. Today, it is the entrepreneurs and businessmen who get rich, not farmers, no matter you provide free water or power. Canals will help, but industrialization is what will power the growth. Insead of doing what is right, T people are fooled by selling an idea whose time has gone.

        • VK says:

I totally agree with your comment. Telangana separatists copied some (the gentlemen agreement, water dopidi etc) from 1969 agitation and blindly using them whether they make any sense in present time or not.

  31. Kiran says:

hindsight is 20/20 and the biggest disappointment is CBN whom i used to be a fan of. here are his biggest faults :

    1) inability to digest ysr as CM. Eenadu simple did not respect people wishes and played a cunning game to destabilise ysr. KCR was highly promoted in eenadu esp during Jeevan reddy- KCR contest. Even i dont like ysr but dont question his legitamacy to rule.

    2) playing congress game ball for ball. desperation to win at any cost even when he enjoyed 9 years of cm rule. TRS tie up in 2009.

    3) vacillation at extreme – no bjp in 2005 and now bjp. No telangana up to 2006 i think and then a tie up in 2009. as somebody in opposition can't he get atleast few telangana mla or mps to oppose telangana state ? instead he shut down those who opposed like chalasani sreenivas yadav and teegala reddy.

    • Ved says:

The main reason for division is congress MPs from SA. If center wants to divide a state, there is nobody that can stop it. The general mood in rest of the country is either apathy or cynical satisfaction.  This can be true if tomorrow Tamilanadu is divided. So the question comes how do you stop center making the decision?. By making them feel the pain. If 18 MPs resign and submit no confidence motion, they would not have dared to do this. To this day MPs like Panabaka, JD seelam, Botsa Jansii, Killi Kruparani publicly support the high command. The crooks like Kavuri don't need introduction,. He used the United AP plank to get plum cabinet position.  In private Digvijay Singh confirms that they didn't expect this much backlash from SA people. Had they known this, they would not have gone for the division and now it is too late for them to back out. Deep down, Congress has very low esteem for telugu people. Even now they think the loss in SA is temporray. They believe that they can win few in 2014 and come back to normal by 2019. It is possible. The second person responsible is Jagan. There is no question that there is a secret understanding between Jagan and Congress. Without his support, Congress is not foolish to ignore 25 MP seats. The fact that YSRCP ordered their MLAS not to oppose KVP and TSR tells the whole story.  Finally the blame goes to CBN as you highlighted.

      • Kiran says:

Here is the example of typical characteristics of Telanganas viz laziness , crybaby/victim hood and grab wealth/credit.

What was the stand of various politicians in Telangana over last 13 years

    TRS – only for Telangana

Congress – DS, Madhu Yaskhi and handful hard core T vaadis. All others GOPI (Goda meedi pilli). Until 30th july 2013 no committment from high command

TDP – not explicit but by and large happy with united state

BJP – always for Telangana with an explicit commitment from national leaders

    Now what is the situation

Telangana Congress demonstrates the typical characteristic

lazy ness – laze out till things come to a logical conclusion

crybaby – claim victim hood after 45 years of power sharing with andhra congress. Block convoys in Delhi and claim discrimination.

grabbing – all credit accorded to italian amma and TRS was thrown to backstage. Its MLAs are poached and all kinds of bantus demand TRS merger.

Of course all of sudden TDP leaders also became turm khans.

    • ram says:

It so funny – All these you never spoke of United AP stand and after decision you are crying – this is like buying ticket after train is moved … this shows who is hard working and visionary and goal oriented….If congress high command thinks for a moment – they can buy majority of your SA leader from all parties overnight … DONT Imagine Too much of yourself when Kanna did not joined with CM for protest. Current CM is on the chair with the mercy of Sonia Gandhi. We know how YSRCP agenda from becoming CM came to getting bail .. Look at yourself first before commenting other

      • VK says:

It is stupidity to think people will talk about unitedAP in a state that is already united. Though the rest of India is against Kashmir divsion, you don't see people doing dharnas etc against kashmir separation, This is because kashimir is still part of India and Indian govt. didn't announced any decision on the separation based on Kashmiri separatists agitations.. Similarly the majority in AP opposed the separation when Chidarmbaram made the confusing statement on 9th Dec. 2009 and then clearly voiced their opinion in the SKC report.

Not only current CM but all previous CMs in congress are at the mercy of Congress high command. So why blame them rather than Congress high command for fabricated discrimination against telangana.

Practise what you preach and look at your self before writing rubbish here.

High command may have some faults. But they are definitely not from Telangana :-) .  Even today congress has no guts to remove him. They will not and cannot touch him at least until 21st Feb. By then it does not matter either way.

        • LR says:

here is small picture of the future

KCR shouting about nativity. There is nothing he can do about it. There are various reasons for it the most important being the usual lazyness.

Unlike some samaikhyavaadis cry, Telanganas will not force anyone out. Once again it is some kind of WORK. Naturally you would not do that.

Telangana already has about 30% Andhras. Incidentally most of them are educated. They will give stiff competetion to you. Yet another characteristic, rather lack, of Telanganas.

Thanks to too many common castes there will another colored capsicums in Telangana gardens, Andhra…

Telanganas cry 90% businesses are by seemaandhra. It will continue even after division. There are good chances it peaks after division. Simple reason at present Telangans either not have money or lack business skills. They did not prove it outside Andhra Pradesh. To put crudely before they gain either of these two requirements, most of Hyderabad will be captured by rest of India including Andhras.

Of course one cannot deny increased wealth owing to growth of Hyderabad.

Be assured, the state will help you contine your current mode of life.

Little or no work and enjoy a lot.

            • LR says:

I am not sure what KCR said, but we (most regular people) do not want people leaving Hyderabad or any other T areas. We are smart enough to understand the ground reality and also in economic sense. I am not sure why you give so much importance to what a politician says.

Coming to WORK? Even with so much resistance from the most skilled and educated people (your words) and so many political back-stabs, we, the lazy people, got Telangana all by ourselves. What did you acheive together as SA people?  I am not talking about individual achievements. Together as SA people? What ever India progressed is because of INDIVIDUAL Indians. Our Governments over the years only hinder our progress. My point is, if you push a person/organization/community/region to a corner, they will rise above the expectations. Thats what happanned here.

We cry not about SA people successes or businesses, but the oppurtunities we didn't get. Its like you guys have an advantage. Just not the natural resources, but policies and decisions made over the years gives you that edge. Like Ram said, farming with less or no water and farming with abundant water. There is a difference.

Don't categorize (Lazy, uneducated, no skills) all people into something. That shows your maturity or again lack of it.

No ITALY lady is our AMMA – She did it for her own reasons not with LOVE. We all know that.

This is what currently happening with Seema-Andhra (SA) region. Current treatment of SA by the centre making us to feel we are not part of India. This is no different from what Panjab felt in early '80s or Kashmir feeling currently.

give yourself a chance forget about Telugus for a while drop rhetoric and think rationally.

There was economic activity in Hyderabad city long before AP formed. What included in activity? Only businesses setup by Nizam? I recommend you to browse Golconda patrika archives from 1932 to 1956. This will definitely give you the kind of business activities and who involved in them. Did people from Telangana played any role? Similarly what about rest of Telangana before 1956?

Supposing good numbers of Telanganas involved at that time, what happened to them? Were they forcefully thrown out of Hyderabad after 1956? Again archives will be a good source. Goconda patrika ran till 1964 I suppose.

In fact reading archives will reveal interesting facts. One example is Insurance companies based in masulipatnam that was in British India did direct business in Nizams Hyderabad as early as 1930s. Note this is without any local agent.

Note I am not talking businesses of Nizam taken over by AP government. But those run by Telanganas in Telangana districts including Hyderabad.

It is well known fact that major economic activities in Hyderabad by seemaandhra people started with moving of film industry and setting up pharma industry. Some time early 1980s.
What was Telangana economy between 1956 and 1980s? Who were the players? Again was there any evidence of oppressing T business people? Rejecting investment proposals, rejecting licenses?

Supposing the oppression was true. Did they altogether gave up business or invested somewhere else?

If so why they did not attempt once again to enter Telangana the least Hyderabad?

There was huge potential especially after IT boom. Major and minor firms and individuals from across the globe came to Hyderabad.
Now you people claim 90% investments are owned by seemaandhra people.
What were Telangana business people doing? If they really had money or skills or both, why they could not take part in such huge market?
BTW, this period also witnessed Naxals driving out doras from T interiors.
What sort of part they played in Telangana economy?

I have enough reasons to brand Telanganas as lazy-bones. A small example is good enough.

All T activists accused seemaandhra developed while Telangana continued to backward.
CM presented some figures in assembly. Naturally I have expected TRS and T-Cong dismissing them as false stats.
They took up an interesting line it is our right.
T-cong could have claimed the credit for all that happened. They did not.
What conclusion one can draw from this?
I would say T-cong lazy enough not even make claim, even if false, for development in Telangana.

T sepratist claim 1200 suicides but in the very first public interview by Prince he talked about 1000 sikhs killed 20 years ago and 800 muslims killed 10 years – not a single byte about telangana. Its like telling telugu people a plague on your houses we will do what we think gives us our MP numbers(in record time if needed) and you just shut the f**k up.

    • P. Rao says:

@Kiran, As you have alluded to before it is the festival of the real estate dealers on both sides of the divide. At least on this blog, My Telugu Roots, all the issues were laid out clearly so 50 or 100 years from now people will know the realities of today. We do not know all the details of how Tallikota war was fought and lost by the mighty Vijayanagara empire, a major Telugu power.

Presently, the T situation may take the shape of division of India in 1947 or the fate of Khalistan in the 1980's.  If divided now, the political power in the T region will likely go into the hands of radical elements in TRS and the Congress; that is the problem. They may end up as a thorn on the side (pakkalo ballem) of Andhras.

      • Chandra says:

"T region will likely go into the hands of radical elements in TRS and the Congress; that is the problem. They may end up as a thorn on the side (pakkalo ballem) of Andhras.'

Thats a pretty short and precise estimation of the furure of southern India . SKC last chapter and IB of  india had similar estimation. GOI after knowing all these things went forward with a  political strategy which appears legally weak and unrealistic .There should not be any negotiations with Telangana extremists in future by any goverment.

I dont see any point in replying to extremists comments on this blog also. No body in this world engages extremists in negotiations. In my view, KCR is also under the clutches of Telangana extremists.

        • Kiran says:

          Chandra,

THe hold of t extremists on both t society and seemandhra elite is remarkable. Way back in 2006 I met a group including Chalasani Srinivasa (Andhra "intellectual" forum) and another person called Penmetsa Raju who argued strangely for seperation from telangana. Not surprisingly Penmetsa Raju was always accompanied by his cousin who is real estate broker in rajahmundry. When they talked about protests etc I suggested they need to do it in Hyd as this is where the entire media is at. But they were really scared about attacks from t sepratists which mystified me.

THe same scare is clearly present in private tv channels in that time who had a highly deferential attitude to whoever was more extreme – more extreme they argued more the media bend its back. I never understood that irrational fear. I practially grew up in telangana (apart from my birth and few months around it) I never felt either superior to them or feared them like they are violent animals. I used to talk to random guys in telangana basthi  in shops as to why they are selling telangana speeches  in my clear krishna distric accent- embarassed silence was usual response. Most of my telangana acquantences are never in to this extreme ideology.

Then why did they have such a hold ? there are two problems i see :

          1) The usage of aggressive urdu or muslim figures of speech by t sepratists. Muslims always had an element of otherness in our society . This is simple explanation.

          2) THe other is our social structure weakness. The media elite were basically a couple of castes from seemandhra and the innate caste feeling in many of them make them treal others like foreigners and fear them.

Ofcourse all the above no way justifies centers action but it is something the society needs to address.

          • Chandra says:

            Kiran,

Your observations are very accurate.  Media was always trying to milk something out of this and promoted all the extremsists arguments. Fear and greed are the reasons. You can not have a free media in an irresponsible society.  This T extremety  was enhanced after dec 9 2009 contrary to  Separatists boasting about Jayashankar for the "spread of the feeling of separate T". But those were neglible before dec 9. But the separatism might had been a  pardonable opinion until  Myteluguroots or SKC revelations. But after that, ABSOLUTELY zero tolerance on these forces. Absolutely no negotiations with extremist elements. They will engulf everything  and destroy including themselves.

      • Kiran says:

A seperate state telangana will be screwed anyway. I dont think that state if formed will have any clout or energy to do anything. They wil be at the mercy of Delhi, The real elephant is Delhi who is determined to show that our society, culture, the dreams of our ancestors lie at their mercy and whim. A truncated AP formed against its will was formed in humiliation. It is only when AP remembers this humiliation, builds symbols to it and drills it to its children  this slave like treatment  it suffered will it have any future .otherwise there is no society, direction nothing bunch of individuals at mercy of surrounding state, If jews forgot what happened to them, did not toast everyyear to jerusalem will they have an israel or now will they even exist as community ?

One can understand anguish of Kiran, Chandra, P. Rao, VK and host of others take pride in Telugu.

Unfortunately it sounds like sour grapes.

True, we seemaandhra people did too many mistakes over the years. Especially in 2009 elections. It is not about politicians but people too.

Further we became excessively greedy. All that we look for is easy and free.

On the other hand your apprehensions about us are totally unfound.

    Historically Royalaseema is politically strong.

Strength of Andhra lies in ability to work, and work very hard, under any leadership.
To put negative way we lack big political aspirations.
Despite lack of political leadership we could retain the Telugu culture by sheer love for Telugu language.
Though our love for language borders fanaticism, we do not hate others.
From Satavahanaas to Independent India through Nizam and British, we could retain the basic fabric of Andhra culture.

Last 3 decades saw more damage to our culture. Bhai and biryani being prominent intruders. We did not complain, actually we could not.
We are pained at our own brothers settled in Hyderabad becoming lazier by day.
One possible reason could be excessive nationalism. We volunteered to integrate whereas many appear to be non accommodating.

Now that Telanganas are no more Telugu, they will be like Tamilians, Oriyas, Malayalis for us.
I wish a prosperous future for them.
But the history and logic defy this wish. 60 years of association with India and politically active seemaandhras did not help them much.
There is definite improvement in academic sphere. But there are too many ideologies in Telangana. I pray they can bring all of the under one. Otherwise it will be chaos.

Your are right about one point. There will be no pampering of Telangana after 2014 elections. It is time they pay back. Politically very piquent situation. Show gratitude by voting TRS+CONG? You cannot share power at center. Do not vote for congress? Maybe a better choice, as Telangana is known for stabbing the benefactor since Kakatiyas to Nizam.

Present division is going to be huge economic set back for us.

We have even bigger peril ahead in the form of YS Jagan.
Many of our people, rather voters, still believe Jagan will deliver freebies.
In all probability we will suffer another 5 years.

Against all these odds I am confident we will contiue to protect and cherish Andhra culture.

We are known for survival. For me development without preserving culture is only brick and mortar. We can do it anywhere as we can live anywhere.

So please stop worrying about us. If possible help us get our capital at the earliest so that we do not have to travel so long.

    • Chandra says:

      @Anonymus

I understand what u r saying. It was for the T people and for a sense of broader nationalism (which was never reciprocal),the  pure telugu language got a beating esp in movies and songs. It was unnecessary.

As I always said, definitely there should be a second capital in AP keeping the state united connecting  Hyd with high speed rail and roads. We are now more or less enjoying the geographical boundaries existed during the great kakateeya empire. Later on we were scattered by external rulers. Now our own fellow nationals are trying to scatter us which should be resisted with full force.

I like your sentance" We are known for survival. For me development without preserving culture is only brick and mortar".

    • Kiran says:

      @anonymous

i am sorry to say you are just not making much sense. Every culture survived in India withstanding british and muslim rules. people exercising their electoral choice is never a "mistake" which deserves to be punished by forcibly dividing  a state. Just to remind it was TDP which formed alliance with TRS in 2009. Bhai and biryani is not an "intruder" you can't have a pure culture anywhere – are we not debating everything in English here ?

The "peril" of YS Jagan who is just a political alternate simply does not compare with the destruction of the political entity of AP itself. Pls stop this Jagan paronia, Just because we are "known for survival" does not mean we keep taking kicks from every one and meekly accept someone drawing our borders without our consent.

      • Anonymous says:

        Kiran,

first, my view is only relative between Andhra and Telangana. I am not a chuvanist to claim Andhra culture is the best. Nor I say it did not change nover time. But by and large we did not damage our roots. Nor we denied our roots for political ends.

Our debates in English are only Technlogical matter. Our script is not keyboard friendly, nor it is easy to read long trasilterated texts. I would only add that English could not make us give up padyam or ashtavadanam.

No! the mistake is not about electing congress. We did similar mistakes earliar too when TDP was sent in huge numbers. The mistake is in sending businessmen, almost one sided verdict. Above all with huge greed that government will dole out freebies.

Destruction of AP is imminent with one side always being unreasonable. This should had happened at least two decades ago. We could have contained the economic damage to Andhra. Better late than never.

We Andhras are proud of our culture and identity. Now and then we even demonstrated near fanaticism. But we did not run away from the larger identity, i.e. Indian.

It is a historical fact that Telangana is a sub-identity of Andhra. But they are running away from this fact for the sake of temporary political gains. They are not listning to our intellectuals. Also their intellectuals not putting any effort to stress this fact.

        ఈ భావ దారిద్ర్యం చాలా ప్రమాదకరమైనది.

You may call it surrender, but I feel it is wiser and fits our nature to discard these ungrateful identity inventors. And move ahead on our path.

  38. Ashish Kumar says:

Kiran has many good arguments and I especially like where he says that a new AP state is being formed in humiliation of 6 crore people by snatching away their own capital of 60 years. The fact that Congress did this is a lesson to Telugu people (if atleast from now on they start treating history seriously) who twice voted congress with huge majorities enabling it to form UPA1 and UPA2.

More important for Telugu people is to now reflect on how the phenomena of greed and living on freebies have taken them to a point where the kind of politicians they have elected have taken them on to a self-destructive path. In the last 2 decades Telugu culture has degraded itself to making cheap titillating movies, real estate deals (it even consumed a very respectable IT company) and other schemes to make quick money. Even the entire education system has turned into turning out producing low grade IT coolies whose only aim in life is to make money and invest in real estate. As rightly said, the other BLUNDER telugu people do is to elect businessmen into politics who then turn politics into business. Even Lord Balaji's abode of Tirumala has not been spared.

The way Telugus are being humiliated, I do not think the centre would have done this to TN, Karnataka, Bengal, Maha or other states. This itself shows the low esteem the nation has of Telugu people.

The next opportunity to redeem themselves is how they will conduct themselves in the next general election? This may probably the only ray of hope left. The Telugu intellectuals need to come out of their obession with real estate and redeem the great Telugu culture of language, music, dance, sculpture and literature our forefathers have built. The first step is to rename AP as Telugu Nadu or Telugu Pradesh. Let a new Telugu Nadu be built on a core economy of agro based industries, singapore sized ports at Vizag and Kakinada, specialist manufacturing hubs, world class universities, software R&D and export apparel houses. I am sure that IF THE PEOPLE elect the right politicians, who in turn CREATE a right investment climate, then the NRI community will bring in loads of money to create a prosperous state in a short time. But if the people choose the freebie route, do not introspect their greed driven unprincipled behaviour, then the Telugu people have to contend with years and years of suffering.

As far as Telangana people are concerned, my experience is that by and large they are large hearted people less driven by manipulative behaviour. The greatness of Telangana people will show itself in how they reach out to their own Telugu brethern across SA, forge common understanding and keep check on self-serving politicians inclined to create chasms. Vishaalandhra Mahasabha has a large role to play here.

Humilation by italian really hurts the Andhra people. But our own mindset at this juncture is hurting me even more. Talk to average middled aged educated person about division, the first query is where will be new capital. You got it. How to make money in real estate around new capital.

We are completely toxicated with greed. Only way out is a big slap across the face.

For once we have to face the fate of pundarikudu so that we realize the need for value system.

For me it is going to be Jagan. I wish Jagan takes our values to rock bottom* so that at least a few can wake up and lead us on the right path for development.

You are abosultely right, the next fight would be on capital city – like dogs fighting for left overs. People are lining up like vultures waiting for the dead body. 39. VK says:

Venkaiah Naidu demanded that the central government include in the Bill provisions to bridge the gap between the budgets of Andhra Pradesh and the proposed new state.

He pointed out that coastal Andhra currently has a Rs 684 crore surplus budget while Rayalaseema has a Rs 7,600 crore deficit budget.

Telangana, excluding Hyderabad, has a Rs 8,400 crore deficit budget while Hyderabad has a Rs.12,854 crore surplus budget.

When KCR & co  told that telangana without Hyd being surplus budget, why no one objcted to them?

  40. Ramesh says:

I think the entire discussion happening here is purposeless

I do not think this is the time to try to argue about the lies and half-truths propogated by TRS and other separatists in AP. This is the time to stop the bill and stop the long-term damage to the people of AP, especially the people of rayalaseema.

I think as Nalamotu garu started the current blog, we should be discussing the best ways to stop this act of UPA2. Assembly resolution seems to be not enough. The next 3 things we or any other Samakhyavadis can do.

    1. Lobby with BJP central leadership to stick with the procedures and stop any unconstitutional and undemocratic acts of UPA2

    2. Petition the President to intervene.

if the above two fail (seems a very likely chance) and the bill is passed by parliament.

    3. Use Legal means to challenge the passage of the bill in parliament.

If we are successful in stalling the bill, then we can start spending time/energy to educating the brain-washed separatists and remove their misunderstandings.

If the bill is not stalled and division of AP does happen, all this effort talking about lies is irrevelant. We only need to discuss the best way forward to ensure that we progres in all respects in the new states.

    • Ved says:

The first two are proven futile. The only hope is legal action as SC kept this option open.

    • Anonymous says:

Instead of stopping the division, let us face the harsh truth.

Further I recommend a case study on how greed damages a society and propagate across the world.

      • The legal challenge planned by various political groups on the strength of the Bommai case is bound to fail. I explain why in my latest blog post.

Some interesting info for those hoping to "stall the bill" by filing a case:

Babulal Parate filed a case challenging the reorganization act on Sept-12-1956 (i.e. within a couple of weeks of presidential assent). The case was finally decided on Aug-28-1959, almost three years later.

  41. Kiran says:

I agree as society we give too much importance to money, economics and too less to social viability. And all that money did not prevent us from the humiliation we are facing now. But lets not blame ourselves too much for it – our youth in IT, our real estate dealer only played by market rules that everybody throughout India were playing, They did not create these markets – its america which created IT, and the IT led prosperity coupled with copycat capitalism which created the real estate speculative riches which is understandably upsetting people and society who made money the hard way. We cannot deny these people their right to riches as long as they dont try to rig the society. And to be fair I dont believe any real estate broker is trying hard to break AP he is only calculating benefits which is fair enough.

It is our political system especially Delhi(though our politics also has to take blame but execution is in Delhi) that is breaking us apart in a humiliating way. Our consitutional bodies such as parliament who are denying us the respect and the consensus which is an implicit promise in democracy. Our people implicitly believed that the powers that be in Delhi will not take an autocratic route that they took. They beleived we are citizens and not slaves and our highest govt is duty bound to consult them.

If everything fails and every institution in India fails – its time to take a hard look where we stand and go. Breaking away from India is correct but not practical option. At the same time forgetting all this happened, blaming oursevles and reverting back to business as usual with YSR party, TDP and congress is suicidal. Some delhi guy will cook rayalseema sentiment to break us again.

I think a new state of Ap formed forcibly against its own will need to remember that. It needs to build cultural symbols to this humiliation and point out ot India what they did to us at every little oppurtunity. Nobody in Indian state should be allowed to forget what they did to us. it should be reminded whenever the official agent of Delhi – the governor prepares to lecture us through this speeches or PM visits or in so many numerous ways. That will be the only basis which will give some sense of solidarity, a purpose to future AP state and thwart any future misadventures from Delhi. And if God favors us maybe we will break free from this oppression called Delhi .

    • GK says:

      Kiran,

We are not out of license Raj yet….there is still road ahead for our political system to get better…one aspect of making it better is the smaller administration units where the politicos are watched closely, reachable and do not get to play with big bugets…

Let there be no doubt that the new SA state will become the Gujrat of the east and prosperous in a matter of 10-20 years…

      • Kiran says:

Once again the obsession with economics and money as opposed to viable confident societies. I am pretty sure  you make well above average money(maybe several multiples)  compared to an average guy in AP but did it generate any gratitude in you for the state where you were born and raised ? instead you hate it from heart because of your percieved(in a childish manner) insult from some seemandhra guy you generalise to a whole society(I dont really care about your constantly changing fake issues the recent one is water - i know you dont either- you just feel humiliated and treated as inferiori)

but here I am talking about actual humiliation from constitutional institutions which are accountable to people. There is no way you are going to wish that away. Shit has hit the fan.your calculation of enjoying rosy contracts and money may bear fruit but as a society its a huge step back for telangana. A small state with massive muslim, seemandhra propulation in its capital having created enimity with a neighbour to east and a huge neighbour to west and formed in an autocratic way is not going to achieve shit,

Why is only constitutional institutions are accountable to people? Why not governments that ruled people and made decisions on their behalf and looted them to the last penny?

You are feeling that you are being humiliated by Dlehi now and I can see the anger and helplessness, but what about regular T-people who were humiliated by their own brothers all these years?

Jagan or Kiran the question to be asked is why Samaikya Andhra? if it is about justice in division, all of us should be discussing the areas of concerns

It is always been T should be denied because they are liars…instead there should be clear demands of opposing…only in the last few days the SA MPs finally got their act together and are at the table to discuss such demands…

If the bill rejected by AP assembly on first day of its arrival, then the centre would have ignored the AP assembly oponion and introduced the bill in Winter session only. This means UPA2 would have passed the bill by now.

If YSRCP really want unitedAP, then they should have openly said to Congress that they will merge their party if Congress keep the state unted. This would have made Congress to think twice before proceeding with the bill.

Does it not mean that you should hold on to the grand final party until 2017?  :)

I believe you should be able to say if  there is a "Stay"  option also.

    • Kiran says:

As much as i despise the self important guy Jai who acts like a scorned woman against AP i agree with him on this point. How can court arbitrate on democracy? it exists only to defend constitution and not to defend democracy, consultatice process etc.  It will take a lot for them to annul the power vested to legislature by the constitution.

      • Chandra says:

Yes, you are right.Three things. Defending constitution, interpreting constituion and the reason behind that  existance of that  instrument in the constitution. Also there is a difference between a lawyer and a judge. Lawyer, as his job specifies, clings to the text and his client. Thats what he is paid for. But, Justice is a dfferent thing.

In the case of usage of Article 3 and several legal matters in the bill, even among legal community, the opinions on this issue are very strong and extremely divergent. Some competent lawyer writes something, and folks like JaiG will reply completely opposite thing, and the nonsense shouting goes on. If you keep on allowing them they will argue until the end of the time with ZERO output wasting everybody's time. So, not just a single judge but a full bench of judges only can give some clarification. That has to happen at some time. That can not be avoided irrespective of parliament affairs.

        • Kiran says:

Yes you are right in the sense a judge can go beyond written law (not contradict it though) to restore the spirit behind the law. But i serously doubt that India's SC is up to it. I mean it is not as if the profeciency that is lacking in all other appartus of state suddenly bubbles up in judiciary. Some of our hounourable judgementsare garrulous and cringeworthy. Also if you look at recent homosexual ruling which attacted international attention the SC taking up activist role era seems to have ended. It is playing safe.

          • Chandra says:

Fully agree. After seeing the level of competency of Indian bureaucracy recenty in the  indian diplomat's case, I started to see  there's going to be huge problem in future india. I hope such incompetency has still not yet spread into judiciary, but there are some cases, but hopefully not in the supreme court.  When we  have teenagers and fools running the show, no wonder, why not Telangana? It does make sense . what else one can expect?

  44. Ashish Kumar says:

Let us now take it for granted that T will be formed in the next 2 weeks amidst humiliation of 6 crore Telugu people.

The next step is the general elections which would be a crucial turning point for the Telugus. What options do we have – TDP, YSRCP and BJP ?

If YSRCP comes to power this will be the second consecutive humiliation of the Telugus, who will be visibly seen to demonstrate a character that will make them a laughing stock in front of the nation.

Voting for TDP is better but unfortunately there has been so many u-turns and so many irresponsible decisions that I doubt people will take this party seriously.

In my view the best option is to vote BJP and avenge the humiliation brought to the Telugus by the congress. Following are 10 reasons why this option is the best.

    1. BJP comes with no baggage in SA which other parties have. That means the TINA (there is no alternative) factor.

    2. BJP is the only nationalistic non-dynastic party in India where even a tea vendor has the opportunity of becoming a PM

    3. Giving 25/25 seats to BJP in SA region will be the best riposte to the congress for what they have done to the Telugus.

    4. It is now almost certain that Modi will be the next PM of the country. If SA gives him another 25 seats, then I am sure that BJP will ensure speedy allocation of funds for the Telugu Nadu state and also the new capital and bless SA with new educational institutions and companies. In fact BJP will be so overwhelmed by SA giving it 25 seats that they will go out of the way to develop Telugu Nadu.

    5. A consequence of not giving BJP any seats in SA would mean that all financial promises that congress is now making for the truncated AP will not be fulfilled by BJP.

    6. It is now more or less clear that TRS will sweep T region and they would easily align with BJP (KCR already shared a platform with Modi) to get benefits from centre.

    7. With TRS aligning with BJP and SA giving BJP 25 seats means that BJP will ensure that all issues between Telangana and the new Telugu Nadu will be resolved amicably and SA people fully protected in T.

    8. Bringing in BJP in the SA region would mean less prominence to casteism which is the bane of the SA region people.

    9. BJP created Chattisgarh but there has been absolutely no issues between the parent MP state and Chattisgarh. Infact BOTH the states have elected BJP THREE consecutive times to power, which shows how BJP can manage regional issues with a nationalistic spirit.

    10. All BJP states are rules by NATURAL leaders and not leaders imposed by high command. BJP ruling Telugu Nadu would mean that for the first time Telugus will be led a natural talented leader who would bring back much of the needed self-respect.

The Telugu people so far have demonstrated remarkable short-sightedness and displayed low self-esteem of themselves. Eg: Every international airport in the country is named after a great state leader where the airport is located, except Hyderabad. Ideally anybody who has even a bit of self-esteem would have named this after PV Narasimha rao who has been the only Telugu PM. But for the Telugus, Rajiv Gandhi becomes more important than PV Narasimha rao. So much for Telugu pride!!!

It remains to be seen whether the Telugus will continue with these traits and vote for "free pathakam" parties OR turn over a new leaf and vote for BJP and salvage some of their prestige and self-esteem. For this let us wait until May 2014.

(I am not a BJP member. My political views align more with Lok Satta and to some extent with AAP. My support for the BJP to be voted for, in the SA region, is purely based on logic.)

    • LR says:

Even though, I am not from SA region, I completely agree with you. Giving any number of seats to BJP would mean CHANGE. But I doubt if people will ever wake-up.

As a society we are at the bottom of the pile when you talk about values and morals. We have no shame in supporting the corrupt system as long as its benefits us. Universities need to step up and instill VALUES in our children. Don't teach them how to make money— Teach them life skills, life values, morals and what is right/wrong, what is acceptable as society, what is GIVING back etc…

I like to see a day where we don't follow money, we don't blindly follow people with money, we don't follow leaders because they belong to our community etc and more importantly we don't encourage/follow some idiot because he/she is son/daughter of so and so especially in politics and movies. Everybody needs to have equal oppurtunity/chance.

I am product of this system. So I need to start with myself & my children and pray to god to give me strength to follow my words….

      • Kiran says:

The only lesson your children will learn from your telangana politics is that they need to divorce at first quarrel – whether it is necessary of fair is secondary,

        • LR says:

I apologise for posting something highly inappropriate for this forum and expecting a decent reception if anything -

          • Kiran says:

I meant it seriously. What morals are you going to teach when you advocate at the level of a society  relief from "forced marriage" .."naughty husband" …"quarelling brothers" .."better to separate and live like brothers". or you think you can play a double game depending on what you fancy and your kids will be too innocent or you can manipulate them so easily so they live as you say but not as you do. Reflect on it.

            • Kiran says:

its a serious question I am concerned about – what will our children both in seemandhra side on telangana side takeway from this issue – humiliation on one side and hate and desire of sepration at any cost(to the other side) on telangana side. Only a fool will think it has no impact on moral values that will shape them.

              • PK says:

I am not sure what other guy will teach his kids but looks like you my friend will teach your kids to blame everything on somebody else and take no responsibility for any of it. I failed because the guy in front of me didn't show the paper. I cannot because something is in the middle etc…and I am serious too. You are the biggest bigot on this forum and you have all the answers.

                • Chandra says:

What is bigotry in Kiran's comment? He asked a genuine question what morals the next generation in Telangana districts will learn out of this.Children  get habituated to complain parents that they are being discriminated, even when outsider analyzes and denies it.

                • Kiran says:

You want to me teach my kids that they should take blame for decisions taken by others ? as expected you declared yourself offended called me names and try to end discussion. Actually even though you started this excellent point here  this was in my mind for a while – what will we teach our kids and how will this impact them ? the present turmoil may upset or make some celebrate but this will not define us – I mean I am in mid thirties and pretty sure the rest here are atleast above 30. But what about our next generation ? they will be playing sports against each others meet them in hostels in national colleges etc? how will they behave towards each other and what it means to them ? i have no answers but i dont see pleasent ones.

              • LR says:

Kiran, In you statement below you said "You want to me teach my kids that they should take blame for decisions taken by others ?". And at the same time you are saying that my kids WILL learn from the decisions taken by others. If you meant that my kids will learn from my views on this issue, then your will kids will learn from you view on the same issue.

You said yourself that kids will learn from what parents are doing.  If you think that all this is happenning because of the fake issues and manipulation by the Separationists, then thats exactly you are doing. Running away from the reality. Hiding behind the truth. I am not saying that you as a individual are responsible. I am saying they are genuine reasons behind this that were created by politicians and people in power.

We can agree to disagree on this but to make your point don't bring kids and politics together. They both are on either side of the spectrum.

                • Kiran says:

Dont indulge in petty sloganeering like "running away from truth" etc. This is not a t sepratist forum. No forum has displayed more earnestness for truth than this forum has. If my kids were to learn from my views on Telangana. They will learn earnesteness for truth, they will learn one should solve problems through dialogue not through borders, they will learn not to indulge in lazy stereotyping of communities and treat every individual seprately, they will learn to admit and apologize for mistakes.

What will your kids learn from your politics ? how to tell lies to acheive results..how to dig up excuses for new borders and seperation..how to be childishly impatient..how to indulge in lazy stereotypes of whole communities. Am  I not right

I am not bringing kids in to politics ..but what values your kids will deduce from your politics ..that you cannot hide.

It is nothing but stupidity to generalise people based on the region they come from. Viswanad Anand is famous for Chess doesn't mean all tamilians are expert in chess. Similarly Raja come from TN but doesn't mean all tamilians involved in financial frauds. Your name may be Ram but you writings indicate that you are anything but Ram.

If you want teach these kind of morals (genralising people based on how theylook, where they come from etc) to your kids, even GOD cann't help you.

Chilakaluripet is famous for Tobbcco/Cotton mills but you don't know that. This is because Jaundice eyes see things only in yellow.

@Kiran – First learn how to read? What is the topic I started and where did you hijacked this? I was talking about ALL people and you made it about your people and my people.

funny thing here is – You are the one who is stereotyping, but your kids will learn NOT to stereotype?

If you want to respond seriously, then

What lies did I (personally) tell? What excuses I made?

What truth did you learn? What mistakes you admitted and apologized?

P.S: I agree with VK statement below - "It is nothing but stupidity to generalise people based on the region they come from". Unfortunately he only says when it applies to T supporters but doesn't say that or point that when a SA person says it or implies it.

These facts are known but most people opposing T speratists are decent enough not to mention them in public.

                • Kiran says:

@LR stereotyping is not dont by me or most of samiakya supporters. I stereotype T supporters because they share a set of beliefs – itsl ike criticising a political movement but i never stereotype people by birth.

The lies are part of published documents by T sepratists – it starts with 108 reasons published by TDF. It is there in Jaishankar articles. It is there whenver t sepratists moves his lips about history. It is a lie when they say AP is conditional merger and GA is some sort of consitutional agreement which has power of anulling SRC act. It is an atrocius lie when they compare AP with British rule. You align with it. You are a party to these lies.
